Poor design. It would benefit from a handle to make it easier to open the door.

Poorly made

After less than a month of use we have had to have the repairman out. The peddle that opens it and starts the motor is very flimsy. I don’t see it lasting long. Very poor quality

What a Piece of junk this one is , had it for a week or less ,and all i had was problems with it , did not work Half of the time , also had to Cut a Whole in the wall so that it would fit , big Box in the back of it , Motor ? Stopped working Completely , Tryed everything ,tested the A/C ETC : Had to EXCHANGED it for a differant Name , that one works great !!

This compactor is okay but I guess because I bought a cabinet ready compactor to match my kitchen it really only opens by the foot pedal which quite often it will start running while attempting to open it. Very sensitive. Also when opening with the foot pedal the door kind of bounces out and vibrates. Very annoying. My old compactor glided out smoothly. I put a cabinet handle on the door front for appearance purposes and occasionally I can pull it open but most of the time it starts running on it's own doing this as well wasting more of my time. Also the brackets I was given to attach the compactor to the counter top do not hold it securely and it moves around. I need to adjust it occasionally to keep it lined up with the cabinets. My old compactor worked great but when I remodeled I bought the GE because my appliance guy said it was a better unit. Hopefully I will get the 20 years out of this I got out of my old one.

Even better then expected

I bought this compactor a month ago and so far there have been no problems. I do like that it compacts the garbage deeper than my previous compactor. I can put a lot more in the bag before I need to change it.
