Versatile but Limited

This model prints a great thin label but can’t accommodate tape cartridges wider than ~1/2”. Nice font choice, layout options, etc. I just wish I had noticed the limitations before I made the purchase.

Handy, but kind of wasteful.

I like the idea of this, but it's more gimmicky than functional. Especially for the price. It works as expected, but you waste an incredible amount of tape in between labels. If I were to print 10 one inch labels, about 20 inches of tape is used. Also, I have to pair my phone to this for each use and it takes about a minute to connect. Fix those two things and it's a 5 star.

We are sorry to hear that your experience with the Brother PT-P300BT has not been favorable so far and we'd like to help. There is one inch of space between the print head and the cutter unit in the label machine. The layers of P-touch tape must pass through this space, so one inch of tape must feed before the label prints. You can save tape when printing multiple label using the continuous printing feature, here is a link to an FAQ with step by step instructions: https://help.brother-usa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/144089

Software App Frustrating
on March 30, 2019

This is not a complaint about the hardware. It is, rather, a plea to the software folks behind the app to stop forcing margins on the users. To explain: the largest label that this machine can accomodate is a half-inch, or 12mm, tall. But the app that we must use with this labeler builds in, at the LEAST, a quarter inch of margin, rendering the text at one quarter inch MAX. And if you want a two line label, they build in even more margins, reducing text size even more. Do they do this to force you to use more tape? Perhaps. Or do they do this because they expect the same instructions for 1 inch labels to work for 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch labels? Spoiler alert: they don't! That margin problem is made even more frustrating by the margins they force you to have on the sides. You wind up using twice as much expensive tape, cutting off and discarding the extra, for every label. This is not "artistic". This is wasteful.

Nice little Label Maker

Brother P-Touch labeler comes through! As much as I hate having an App For. Every.Thing. Finding previous name labels to reprint is a snap. Only complaint is now the P-Touch thinks it is my computer's main printer and I end up needing to switch printers before printing.

Great little printer with one exception

I love your printer with one exception. After turning it on it should automatically recognize my iPhone after the first I tial connection. Car Bluetooth systems can do it. Audio speakers in my house can do it. But you make me do the big dance every time. Very frustrating.

New P-touch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I have been using the P-touch CUBE for about a week. I had several labeling projects to complete and was looking forward to trying out this new product. Aside from adding batteries and inserting the tape, there wasn`t any assembly required. You just need to link it to your smartphone. I found the tape dispensed quickly and easily. The label makes everything look neat and professional. However, I have two major complaints with this product. First, I found it to be a huge drain on my phone battery. I had to recharge my phone after a few hours. This could be just my phone, but I can usually go eight hours or more before needing a charge. The second and most annoying problem was needing to carry around both my phone and the cube wherever I went in the house. I much prefer to have the keyboard and label maker in one unit. If you are working in multiple areas, it is very cumbersome to require two pieces of equipment I can`t recommend this product for those reasons.
