Disappointed

We've had this toaster a very short time, less than a month, and are very disappointed. We expected the bagel feature to toast hotter on one side, instead it just toasts longer. The toast comes out uneven. I notice the heating elements on the top are recessed more than the ones on the bottom on our particular toaster, making the top of the toast lighter. Well it is nice looking to say something positive, we also have a Oster toaster oven which we absolutely love.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not promising

We just bought this toaster plugged it in to see if it worked. Not all coils in the center are red and the bagel setting is not functioning will be returning this toaster.

Burnt Bagels

We bought this toaster for the long wide slots. We toast a lot of bagels, the problem is this toaster toast both sides of the bagel, causing the outside (the already toasted side) to burn. Only the center elements should be on. This makes this expensive toaster useless to us.

Toaster is a "Bummer"

I bought this toaster expecting it to perform as noted. I used it for 6 weeks hoping it would perform better. Every time I used it, it burnt the edges and did not toast the middle sections of the bread. Consequently I went out and bought a West Bend toaster and it performs just perfectly.

BAD PRODUCT

Bought this toaster because of what "OSTER" used to represent. Always on the high end of home appliances, a better product but pricey. That was years ago and I guess I'm showing my age. I bought the 4 slice stainless about 8 months ago. It burns the bottom and hardly toasts the top...Bagels features???, forget it. It toasts both sides, regardless....Pretty blue lights???, is that what I pay an extra $15 for ? The toast doesn't pop up high enough and when you use the handle to elevate it, it's just a "Hair" over rendering it useless. And the handle is cheap and flimsy at best. And the adjustment dial?..It feels cheap and flimsy and you really don't know what you set it at because of so much play in the dial. Remember the old saying "They don't make 'em like they used to?"...well, this toaster should NEVER have been made and put on the market. Oster ain't Oster anymore...it's somebody else that cares nothing of quality. And the shame of it all, is that Oster is not alone. I threw it out and using my old toaster. I don't want a free replacement toaster with free shipping, don't want my money back. It's a lesson learned. DON"T BUY THIS PRODUCT and scrutinize ANY product made by Oster.

Very Disappointing

I bought this toaster because it looked good. I don't like a toaster sitting on the counter, but my hubby does. So I went for looks. BAD decision! This toaster does not toast, oh it will toast maybe one side of one piece of bread, burn a side of another piece. It's so random. I thought I could toast the bread and if it was not even, turn the bread around and toast the other side - NOPE! That didn't work. This toaster is the worst I have ever seen and I'm sorry I bought it, and destroyed the box it came in (because who would think a new toaster does not toast!)

Not Pleased

I’m not pleased. I’d been looking for several years for a new Oster long and wide 4-slot toaster to replace the one we had for a long time. I found that the Oster® Black Stainless Collection 4-Slice Long Slot Toaster, Stainless Steel, was available if I ordered online. I ordered it, and began using it as soon as I received it.
My issues: 1) it takes up more of my limited counter space than my previous Oster; 2) it is not made as well as our old one; 3) it will not accommodate 4 slices of large bread; 4) this morning, a piece of Pepperidge Farm Swirl bread slipped between the slots and heating elements, and it took a good 10 minutes to remove it before I could make more toast; 6) the toasting is not consistent.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not good

This toaster toasts much darker on one side of the toast. If you are not very carefull the toast will burn on the darker. Also on the bagel setting it should toast on only one side of the cut bagel as it should be. This is not the case with this toaster. So overall I cannot recommend this product
