So I bought this new window unit in the summer for a basement space sized for this units rating. It cooled as advertised. So now the weather has turned cold. Trying to use the heat feature, it just blows like a fan. Cool air. I set the unit to maintain a balmy 60 degrees. If I never readjusted that setting it would take until March to get that warm. If I'm going to have heat in my basement this winter I will have to go get a space heater as this unit is impotent.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does not produce hot air

Heater is a awful. There is no hot air, had heater turned up to 86 degrees and was just luke warm air.

In addition to remote control, heat strip, energy saver functions, this product now has a "Clean Filter" light that alerts you when the filter needs cleaning. After cleaning you simply push the Reset Filter Cleaning button. This is a great improvement. The air conditioner cools quickly and maintains the temperature you set. Haven't used the heat strip yet this season but a previous model worked well and am expecting the same of this one. Easy installation.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Not Right 4 Me

This LG A/C has a lean look, is very quiet, and cools & heats up a very large area. However, the setting tabs on the lower right are very hard to see. Instead of the usual 1,2,3... for settings, it has TEMP w/an up-down "fan" feature. For A/C, I push the down arrow until it gets to the lowest number 60. For heat, I click the up arrow until it gets to the highest number 86. It takes about 15 minutes to figure out if I need to click some more. Worst of all, I've got pet mice who are constantly crawling in an out of the wide slats over the setting tabs.
Pros: Features/Settings

This product was just what I needed

Back in August we decided that my Quilting was taking over the house! So converted our double garage into my Quilting Studio & the AC/HEAT was just what fairy ordered...Very satisfied with my remote control & every having the right the temperature at hand:)
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, terrific
