Nice window unit

Very quiet operation, except when the compressor starts. Compressor is rather loud when it turns on

Great for the price...so far

Iv been an HVAC tech for about 5 years and have serviced and installed many window units (of various brands) and Mini Split units (mostly LG). After seeing the overall quality and performance of there Mini Split systems, I recently decided to buy this LG window unit for my master bedroom (250 sq. ft.) so I can avoid running the central system as often. It did a great job at keeping the room at 65 degrees on an 85 degree day (I like it cold), and with expected tripple digits on a regular basis this summer, im pretty convinced it wont have an issue maintaining 70-73 degrees. If it performs good in tripple digits, I will definatly be buying a larger LG window unit for the family room to cut down usage of the central system even more (or to add additional cooling while having company over on hot days)

great features and energy savings

This unit was the perfect choice for us. Not only does it cool better than expected but the savings on our electricity bill has been an added bonus. The drain feature is also a great feature that is not found on many units.

Noisy and not up to previous quality standards

Unit cools OK but is noise level is much higher than previous year's model. Front panel small cracks in 2 places. Does have better filter removal system than older model and is slightly more energy efficient. When you turn on unit it defaults to energy saving mode so it does not remember your previous setting. I have 3 LG air conditioners but I would not buy this brand again.
Pros: easy to use, Features/Settings, quality going down, not as good as they used to be
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to install, VERY Quiet, easy to use remote, effective cooling.
Did I mention it was VERY Quiet?
After trying out several other brands of window AC units, I choose this model due to best pick consumer reviews.
I now have two of these units and plan on installing another in the bedroom due to VERY quiet operation!

The LG window unit is so quiet that we hardly realize it is on until you realize how comfortable the room is. This is the first LG window air conditioner we have purchased but it definitely will not be the last.
