makes frequent descaling unnecessary

I love the fact that descaling isn't necessary very often. I don't like the fact that this filter needs to be replaced about every 3 weeks. That's quite expensive.

My manual says replace every 3 months. The AquaClean information says good for 5,000 cups. This makes more since. So which is it?
