Big Improvement

We had to replace an older system (not Swann) when the DVR failed. This a big step up. The viewing angle is much wider, the night vision is better, and we were really attracted to the thermal sensing feature as our other system would record a lot of unnecessary movement (trees etc.) The detail is great, it looks like a Blu-ray DVD when viewed on a 4K screen. The ability to view online with the app is also made much easier,. Make sure you choose a strong password for the system and change it every so often as always. This DVR looks sturdy, but mounting it to the wall is possible to prevent things from being set on top of it. Compatibility is a plus with Swann products- might be able to reuse our better cameras to expand the surveillance even more.

Best investment I have ever made

I bought the dvr-4575 4 camera system 04/01/2018 . I installed it myself it was a very easy install the only problem I ran into was the email notification setup the instructions was off but I figured it out . This system is very easy to use and the picture quality is unbelievable and with the home safe app I can keep an eye on my property where ever I go . Even the sheriffs deputies was impressed with the video quality. After viewing the surveillance footage with sheriffs deputies my brother in-law went out bought and installed the same dvr system . This system is worth ever dollar.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These cameras are very easy to install and have a very cool/easy to use interface. They pick up every movement that occurs and playback is very awesome to look at. The DVR itself is small and fits on the dresser out of the way, and the 60 foot cables are a plus as well. The ethernet cable could be longer because with such a short cord your placement of the DVR is very limited. The app on the other hand could be better it is very poor in quality, not very user friendly, and I have a hard time finding certain playback. Over all though it is a very good unit and I would encourage others to try it out it can keep you and yours safe.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It seems that the digital camera is susceptible to deactivation via infrared red light assaults (law enforcement drones). I switched from the analogs, to prevent such problem but it looks like the digital is now also subject to deactivation.☹️
I am very serious! - 4 cameras lost in 4 weeks. Any input welcome - Hope that’s helpful.

Great DVR and motion detection is very good, let down by poor mobile app

This has replaced an older SD DVR and cameras. Setting up was very simple, although two cameras are on 30m cables and the PIR detection wouldn't work until I added power supplies nearer to the camera, I presume due to voltage drop over this distance. Max cable length for the PIR to work isn't mentioned anywhere in the manual, as far as I could tell.

Easy to install wish owner's manual was included in box

Putting the pieces together was fairly easy. One cable would not plug into the DVR but would connect to the 100 foot extension cable. Since this is an infrared system placement is important for motion pick-up. I had to relocate one camera three times before I got the results I wanted. As titled, an owner's manual may have helped understand your product better.
