Owned system now for 2yrs, unfortunately car broken into just out of front yard at 523am unable to identify person. Have added a IR Illumunation light that plugs direct to camera power. Will be adding another next week.

Bought this swann cctv system for added security and I could not be happier with my purchase! set up was very easy following the instructions and the picture quality is amazing! with good area coverage per camera with the added bonus of being able to view cameras on my smart phone via the "Swann homesafe view app" and receive notifications on my phone when the heat sensing cameras are activated i would definitely recommend swann cctv systems

Easy set up for quality basic 2k 1080p HD CCTV system

I bought this on special at Bing Lee and was impressed with how easy it was to DIY install and set up. It took me about a day to install an 8 camera system using conduit and junction boxes so as to make installation look neat and tidy. Using junction box for BNC cable connection makes it easier to replace cameras in the future if required. (See photo attached). For a 2K 1080p HD system the video quality is better than I expected and the system works great with the associated Homesafe View App. Setting up the system and associated app is easy with help from the Swann wizard that steps you through the process. Online support and videos available if you are having problem setting up.

Nice cameras, but no audio recording feature, and poorly designed software.

I bought this camera 2 weeks ago and installed it a week ago. The system package was good, with all necessary things included. The cameras are also good, however there is no audio recording. Somehow I missed to read this while ordering as I thought this feature of audio recording is mostly included. It would have been really good if it had this feature. However this does not compromise the security featuers. Another thing I am unhappy about is the software, Homesafe View. Its not user friendly. I wish Swann did something about their softwares. Apart from that, the installation was easy. The PIR sysyem works great. There is a prerecord option in the software, but its useless, doesn't work. I think this is very important, and Swann should do something about this. Another suggestion to Swann - please make both ends of the wires same, so that when we install it, it should not matter which way we put the wire. Curerntly the end that conencts camera and the end that connects base unit are different, and I got it wrong couple of times.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not sure where to begin, I'm impressed by everything with this system. It literally came with everything you need to get started, including long wire. It only took a few minutes to setup first couple cameras. The clarity of the cameras is so clear it is like your actually there. This system comes with 4 cameras but you can add on all the way up to 8. There is an app. You can download that will alert you every time it picks up movement. These cameras also have a motion light and alarm setting which is great for nighttime and when your away. You can play back video with a few clicks. This doesnt take up much space and gives you 24 hour surveillance to keep you and your property safe. These even came with stickers. I'm very impressed with this system and excited to put it to use.

Serves it’s purpose

I bought this late last year, we finally got it installed in January . unable to get anyone to do this so we managed to install it ourselves. Used while away on holiday so it did provide us some peace of mind but it was very random in what was detected. One night a moth set it off. I have noticed cars will activate recording but a neighbor walking into same area may not activate sensor.

You may need to adjust the motion settings on the DVR. This may prevent the false triggers you are receiving. You are able to speak with one of our technical support agents and go through the DVR settings.
