Slightly disappointed.

We purchased this as a replacement for a Brother MFC-4800 series printer which we loved. Our business requires pristine copies and this printer, purchased at the recommendation of our repairman, leaves black marks all over the corners and dots on the reverse side of printed pages. We are using OEM cartridges and are on our first cartridge. The quality of our printed pages is not what we expected and now have to consider investing in another printer. The speed is great for printing/scanning but the quality of printed pages leaves much to be desired.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my second printer (same model). The fuser deteriorated on the first one a little after a year. Attributed to just being lemon. The new one smells like something is getting overheated when I print a large document or several small ones in succession. Disappointed.

Improvements Needed

This printer could be excellent were it not for: 1) going offline and not printing
2) having to uninstall, then reinstall to remedy
3) printing pages slower as time progresses
4) toners not lasting as long as they should
5) faxing is too tedious, too many steps

Good machine, parts no longer available.

The machine is still going after several years. The ADF scanner was damaged by a staple. The part could not be replaced. I had to get another used machine.
