I wasted a lot of time trying to print on envelopes. The salesman told me I could print envelopes from 1 tray and stationary from the other.. I tried everything and it just wouldn't work. I called tech support for help and they told me that this monster of a printer can only handle 3 envelopes at a time.. Can't use them in a paper tray. I sent it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

MFC-8950DW

I had another Brother Printer the MFC-8660DN and such a good experience with it that I decided to buy another one. This time, I wanted wireless connection capability as an added function. The MFC-8950DW is an outstanding printer. It is high quality in every way I can think of.

We purchased this printer in Dec 2015 and had it installed on Jan 2016 so only 7months with this machine and we have experienced dirty copies, lines on copies. Really annoying that it notifies you repeatedly that your toner is low in spite of the fact that there is still plenty of toner in the cartridge. It becomes even more annoying that the notification is continues because everyone that prints in the office the notice pops up. Our copies are now coming out grainy and unfocused so once again need a service tech to come out and have it looked at. If you are considering purchasing a MFC 8950DW don't unless you are willing to deal with these issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I HAVE USED BROTHER PRINTERS FOR YEARS, BUT THIS IS MY FAVORITE. I HAVE A SMALL BUSINESS WITH LOTS OF PRINTING AND THIS MACHINE IS A WORKHORSE. GREAT PRICE FOR THE MACHINE AND THE TONER. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE.

The Best!

I am an IT guy and I’ve been replacing traditional copier/printers with the 8950 for several months now and my clients have not missed a beat! The only option missing is the staple option. All of my clients are saving hundreds of dollars a month by giving up the traditional copier service contract and moving to the 8950DWT. Simply put, it’s a work horse and manages its printer cartridges well. The speed and reliability of the unit is significant. A must purchase for the medium to small office environment.

TECH SUPPORT IS USELESS

The Printer functions were excellent but had a problem with printing where the page will be all dark from a glitch of the drum unit. We followed the direction from tech support and even replaced the drum unit. Within a month the same problem continued with new drum unit. Tech Support refused to replace the drum unit or the Printer. I will not buy another Brother because of Tech Support.

Frustrated

I bought this machine purposely for the dual tray and to enable auto print PDF document that has both letter and legal. This is required in my line of work. I have spent hours with the tech service to set up, they advised me its my PC. I bought new Mac, still was unable to get the auto select print working, I was then told it has to do with Adobe, I purchased Adobe Pro and I still can't get it to work. Last time I was on call with the tech, he said it is an Apple issue, I spent hours with Apple help, they claim its the printer. I am very frustrated, I have to manually print 150+ document by selecting legal separately and then printing letter size, very inefficient. I would welcome any help to get it working the way I had purchased it for.
