Solid machine. For my needs, wake-up time for printing is fast enough (less than 10 seconds).
Printing about 20 times / day; about 150 pages/day.

The HL5470DW is a work horse and it performs extremely well..... fast, professional quality laser printing at a very modest price. A couple of features or issues are frustrating, like duplex printing requires a repeating of hitting the tab to print long side automatically, or the printer tells me it is out of paper when it is not (automatically switches to different tray) but the printer itself is a gem.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Purchased the HL5470DW as a replacement for an older Brother monochrome laser. When I send something to the printer it pulls so much power (equal to a large hairdrier) that it causes my UPS to kick into action. Will return it today and look for another Brother printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fast output and easy connectivity are the hallmarks of this printer. Improvements over previous HL series models include a redesigned "keypad", which prevents unintended protocol changes. Paper handling is improved to use lighter weight stock, minimizing recycling waste.

We have three of em- Great machine for small Biz .. Toner a bit expensive . I recommend using the Hi Capacity toner TN-750 - get much better mileage

I have owned MANY printers, Now all I own is Brother they are by far the best as nothing else even comes close. They all just work GREAT and are affordable to use.
