We have had this printer for a few months now and it has worked as expected. I have not experienced the circuit problems that others cited. It connects easily to an iphone and iPad.
I would recommend this to a friend!

bad machine

this machine has been in the shop twice for the same reason and it's not even a year old. It smears ink and cartridge gets stuck and or won't go in.Customer service stinks as weel.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great printer, met all my expectations. However it did not ship with a Windows 8 disk and I had to spend over 30 minutes on the phone with a tech that I not impressed by.
Shame on Brother for shipping a product without current software.

We have spent more money replacing drum units than the original printer cost. Don't be fooled by the purchase price. Maintenance costs make this a very, very expensive printer.
Brother support won't do squat because they say replacing the drum unit is a normal wear and tear thing. However, our prior HP was a freaking work horse. Never had to replace a drum unit with 100K+ pages printed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First 5470DW Review

I love my new HL 5479DW printer. It prints as advertised and I like its features, like duplexing.
The WiFi set up is too complex. I'm not a super user, and technology intimidates me, but come on Brother International! Who edited the instruction manual for common sense and understanding? Jeesh!!!
Brother technicians came to my rescue. It still took about 45 minutes to do it, but the tech knew what she was doing and she walked me through the process without any hitches. I could not have done it without her.
But that's over and done with. I love my new printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!
