Excellent Printer

I am finally free of inkjet printers. It is such a pleasure to click the "print" button, and know that there is always a printed page coming out of this printer, one-sided or two-sided automatically, very fast, plenty of paper storage in the tray, and never having to keep ink cartridges on hand for the all too frequent times the ink needs replacement. In other words, this printer is always ready to go with zero maintenance. I love this printer.

Comes from a good linage

I have the previous version HL5370DW, hard wired to a Cisco router. Gone through multiple toners, and am not shy about printing 100+ page double sided documents. The one and only paper jam was caused by a power failure while a print job was in progress. I can't recall ever seeing a software crash, or a job getting stuck in the queue.
Two people have bought Brother printers on my recommendation, and are happy.

Great printer; lousy network connection

The printer is outstanding - crisp, clear text, fast, very quiet, and prints in duplex (i.e., both sides) without batting an eye. My previous printer was an HP, and this one beats it hands-down. I have yet to replace a cartridge in it, so I can't address costs required to keep it running.
That said, it is lousy at connecting to the household network. My daughter's Canon inkjet printer connected without even a hiccup, smoothly integrating itself. Unfortunately, this Brother doesn't even see the network, and the manual has been no help whatsoever. The network is a simple home system, and it manages to run one desktop, four laptops (one PC, three Macs), as well as three cell phones, but the Brother printer can't seem to figure out how to connect. So unfortunately, I have to run it with a direct connection to whichever computer that needs it.
I know giving it three stars seems harsh, and the printer - by itself - clearly earns five stars, but I bought is based on my need for a networked printer, and thus I am forced to downgrade it substantially because it won't do as advertised.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beyond Expectations

I have purchased Brother printers over the last twenty years. Each version is better than the last. As a CPA, I need reliable printers during the hectic tax filing season. This model delivers.

Bought this unit rather than purchasing drum units and new toners for my 3040CN (since I do not need color anymore). So far so good - need to see how long the cartridge REALLY lasts though!

Printer prints non-stop since we received it. It is fast and prints great quality. We use it to print finance contracts for banks!

ONE OF THE WORST PURCHASE EVER

This is probably one of the worst printers in the market. The self contained toner cartridge is a disaster especially if you attempt to print postage labels. It leaves excess toner on the drum, and specks all over the pages. I returned the first one because of this problem, and replaced it with the same model. Guess what, the second one was just a bad. Do yourself a favor, purchase the HP Laser Jet Pro M402dw. Sure it's more money, but it's light years ahead of the Brother Printer as far printing clarity, speed and it doesn't leave specks all over your printed documents.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing Printer

Fantastic printer. Arrived just in time for tax season. Very fast and have yet to have any kind of issues. When printing tax returns you need something fast that will not jam and this printer has been perfect. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a fast and reliable printer.
