Had bought another product prior to this Brother and wish we'd gotten it first. It is a great machine and here have been no problems since the purchase a few months ago!

Basically the same as previous 4-yr old Brother, but seems to be a tad better designed and better manufactured. For the same money, it is a nice improvement. Regret extra paper tray and additional memory are NOT transferable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unreliable

We have been through 3 of these units. We bought them because we thought they would last longer and be more reliable than cheaper units.
We print about 120 pages a day, so it is not high volume use.

Trying to get support is horrible. We had to go through a lot of hoops to get an in warranty unit replaced.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Having some issues

We got this printer back in fall of 2015. It's done pretty well up until recently when the printer started printing slower and for a couple hours the other day it kept saying there was no paper in the tray, but there was a huge stack of it. Turns out if the paper isn't exactly where the printer wants it, it won't be able to pull it through. Just a "sensitive" printer. Scanning capabilities are limited to scanning one paper at a time...lengthy process when there's a lot more papers to scan.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
