Granted, this is the best phone on the market today. What I'm about to say does take away a little, but that said, it's still the best phone out. I bought it on the 1st day it was for sale at my local verizon store. I was urged from the moment I walked in that I need an extended battery, because all of the verizon sales people had them, and still charged twice daily. I think they were a little over exaggerating, as most days I charge once. Only rarely do I not make it all day on the extended battery. I also bought the otterbox case for it. device protection at it's best. Since my only 4 star rating was design, I'll stick to my theme. Google and Samsung came up with a super idea to have only one filesystem on the phone. That allows the phone to have applications, data and os to be on the same file system. It does not have an sd or micro-sd slot. So moving files to/from PC is a little more difficult due to not being able to pop out the micro sd chip. Instead they've opted for a usb "MTP" transfer method which is essentially the same transfer method as low end MP# players. This method only allows for single access to the file system. This means I can't be copying 2, 3, 4 or more music albums at a time. Only one copy stream. The other alternative is the "PTP" picture transfer protocol. same deal as MTP. To joe user, it's no big deal. But to me, this really puts a hurting on my lifestyle, having to wait months for my 8 to 16 GB of music and movies to copy down to my device.
Still, the best phone on the market, short of maybe the note (which I wished was on verizon)
I find the screen to be ultra-bright and crisp. The system is snappy as it should be. Touting the first version of ice-cream sandwich (Android 4x), it had it's share of bugs. Most of which have already been addressed by samsung and verizon. I'm still waiting on the latest build to come down from Verizon, as there are still bugs left, such as if you are typing a message in portrait, then turn the phone landscape, when you resume typing, there is a noticeable lag many times. So Samsung, keep up the great work! Please put some pressure on Verizon to test and deploy those updates. After all, this is a NEXUS phone, and that should mean the latest of the latest, and the best of the best!
Yes, some bugs, but STILL THE BEST!
Pros: Bright display, super hd graphics, ice cream sandwich
Cons: battery life, typing lag, slow vendor updates

Not entirely what I would expect from an Android flagship device

Coming from an OG Droid Incredible, I had very high expectations for my next Android phone. When I heard that Verizon would be the next wireless provider to carry the follow-up to the Nexus S I was excited to know I could finally own a Nexus device on my carrier. Then I heard that Samsung would be the manufacturer once again so I remained optimistic. Once I got my hands on the Galaxy Nexus, I was impressed with the phone because I did not expect it to be the next superphone because that is not what the Nexus line is about. Having a pure vanilla Android experience without having to root and install various Roms was the goal for me and that goal was met. I love (mostly) the hardware aspect of the phone but the software leaves room for improvement. Call reception is great but I have had some call drops, intermittent 4G and wi-fi hiccups, and random reboots. The only hardware issue, which could also be software related, is that the speaker volume is somewhat low for a phone with such good sound quality. I will say that I am satisfied with the hopes that software updates should fix the few issues I have with my Galaxy Nexus.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: software issues need to be addressed., low speaker volume

I am a software engineer and a gadget geek. However, I hate paying high prices for technology, unless I can justify that it is worth the cost. This phone is worth every penny! I work on many mobile hardware components, this is by far one of the best I've come across. The sensitivity of the touch features and the ease of transition between applications is smooth and seamless. Let me say the #1 reason I picked this phone over other phones was the Android Ice cream OS. A close second place is the HD screen. It's all beautifully customizable and addictive to play with. I'm not a gamer, I prefer applications that collect and manage my data for organizational purposes. Hey...I'm a mom too, I knew I picked a good phone when both of my teenagers offered to do extra chores for the entire summer to get their own Samsung Galaxy Nexus...
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, android ice cream, hd display, spell check is great, easy to use!!!!, loads configurable options, compatible with everything, ui is fantastic!!, worth every penny

A tale of 2 features

Well, I love it and it does and is everything I wanted it to be. ICS is great. I love the camera, the software and everything. I don't even mind the too quiet external speaker. The screen is great and I love the design. But unfortunately the battery life is as bad as others said. Now I do realize that it's sort of like having driven 4cyl cars then switching to a V8. Now if you've always driven V8s then that's just normal. But going from one to the other is a shock. Like here. This is my first 4g phone and to ME it's a big shock. However, I don't think this phone is really shockingly worse than any other 4g phone.
Boy ICS is nice though. So I think I'll be exploring the extended battery.
Pros: Lightweight, software, hardware design
Cons: battery

Great phone, bad antenne

The phone is great and I love the phone. I can use it as a phone and as a smart phone so I get the best of both worlds. However, I am with Verizon and apparently the day before this phone came out it looks like there was a hardware fix to fix a signal issue. The problem is all the phones in the store were still sold. So right now I will have a good signal but be bumped from 4g to 3g and then typically if I Want to go back to 4g quicker I have to turn my data on and off.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: bad antenna
