So Called "Top of the LIne"

I am currently on my second Galaxy Nexus. The first one worked as expected, besides battery life and reception, until it started restarting almost hourly. While driving across country the phone was restarting almost hourly. Then did a hard reset on it's own. After exchanging it for a new phone this one works OK. The speaker volume is mediocre. While in a vehicle you cannot hear the notifications or ringing. The antenna reception on this phone is abysmal also. I am currently in a 3G only area and it constantly drops signal. When is am area where I used to get full 3G service with my Droid 2, I cannot get a signal with this phone. Yesterday while standing next to a friend with an Iphone, he had a good signal, I had none. I understand this is a developers phone, however, that is not a reason for it to be so very lacking in the basic phone abilities. For this being a flagship device, there are too many hardware problems.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, poor speaker, poor reception, lack of accessory support

Worst phone I have owned

This is the worst phone I have ever owned. My husband and I both have the nexus and we cannot wait to get rid of them. Call quality is terrible, which I know is not an issue with the carrier because it temporarily gets better after a reboot. My apps crash constantly. I receive "contacts unavailable" messages daily that require me to reboot before I can use the phone. The battery only lasts about half a day - granted I am heavy user but my previous smart phones lasted all day and sometimes 2 days. And at least once a week the phone reboots itself for no reason. I have wiped my phone and started over multiple times with no improvement.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

This Nexus is no nexus at all

The review I wrote previously was deleted by Samsung for some reason so I'll try again to convey my feelings about the Galaxy Nexus.
My biggest issues with this phone are the camera, speaker, and the overall build quality.
Let's face it, this camera is lousy. Yes, it does take rapid shots that are somewhat in focus but the photos it takes are terrible. It's almost 2012 and Samsung has put a camera in this phone that makes me feel like I'm taking pictures on smartphone that's several years old. When cameras first made their way to phones we were just amazed at the technology, and we didn't care about the quality of the photos. That's what this camera feels like. Samsung threw a cheap camera in and said "It's a Nexus, they'll love it". Wrong.
As for the speaker, well let me just say HORRIBLE. Way to quiet. Hopefully this is something that they can address with a future software update.
Build quality is a joke. The battery cover for my phone pops off all the time if I don't keep my phone cover on. The whole handset feels cheap and flimsy.
This is not at all what I expected from Samsung for a flagship device. I feel like they put Nexus label on a cheap base model phone and knew they'd have a hit because of the hype that was generated by the press.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, speaker loudness, camera quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Major flaw with nexus

I like the basic operation of the device for internet and other media type things, but as a phone it is almost useless. The thing that makes this phone almost useless is its inability to sync with MS Outlook contacts and calendar. I work in multiple offices and out of my home. For the past 9 years I've been able to keep all my contacts and calendars at each site in sync with every PDA and phone I've had. This one is a rude awakening to the lack of support with the number 1 contact and calendar program in the world, MS Outlook.
Samsung offers the Kies program for their other phones, but for some reason doesn't think the Nexus or its users need to talk to Outlook so they don't offer this solution.
Pros: decent screen
Cons: no sync with outlook
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Suffers from early adopter syndrome

Okay, the phone gets a 3 stars because it's the guinea pig for ICS. The rating is as much about ICS as it is about the nexus - problem is, ICS was the only option, so it's reviewed right along with it.
First, the phone is nice, looks and feels great, and does the job - most of the time. Would i buy it again, maybe, depends on what's on the market at the time.
My biggest pet peeves are 1. the phone does not vibrate when text messages or phone calls come in, even though i have vibrate set to always. ICS or samsung, not sure. 2. The notification volume is 'tied' to the ringer volume, and you can't adjust these independently. ICS or samsung, not sure. 3. The 3g/4g coverage is weak. I was told by vzw that it's an ICS issue not their network, and a software update would fix it...over a month ago 4. ICS is too new for some 'cool' software (like swype). it'll work itself out (swype beta is out), but it's still a PITA 5. Almost every day on my drive home, the phone will shutdown (aka crash) and restart automatically. it will then take 5 minutes to reacquire a mobile network. this happens whether i'm talking on it or not. 6. oh and then there's that issue with none of the facebook pics pulling through my contacts list.
Overall, an ok phone, but since it's the first 'google' phone, (versus a 'vzw' phone running google software), i'm quite surprised it's been 2.5 months and these things haven't worked themselves out yet. once ICS gets the bugs out, this has the potential to be a really nice device, which is why i bought it. however, today, not so much.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor Data Connection and Weak Screen
on June 4, 2012

I just bought this phone thinking this will be great with LTE connection and performance. When I got this last week, it was working okay, but I started noticing lost signal when the phone went to standby mode. I would be missing phone calls and I don't even know if the texts I got was actually sent around that time, or if the text came to me much later. The phone sometimes search for service for more than a minute, even it's looking for 4G or 3G connection. This continues to drain the battery even more , that sometimes the "cell standby" battery usage is more than the "screen display" usage. Mostly it's #2 battery consumption. I used to get such great connection with just 3G alone. And I live right next to a cell tower, so when I get a connection, it's 4 bars.
I then actually dropped the phone less than 3 feet onto my tile floor. I guess the screen is not made of gorilla glass or anything similar, since it cracked after the first drop. I dropped other phones at higher distances on concrete, and they've never cracked like this before. Because of this, I get little help from my carrier regarding the connection issues.
I am very disappointed with this product, and now I am reconsidering purchasing the Galaxy III when it comes out in the US.
I really like the features on the phone, but due to it's quality, I regret buying a samsung phone.
