When I get it to charge it's great. Too bad that's not often.
Cons: won't charge all the time.

Disappointed - Call quality issues
on June 21, 2012
Posted by: orion13
I am very disappointed with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone from Verizon. Here are the challenges I have been facing:
1. Call quality issues -voice sounds garbled
2. When calling other phone one can hear ringing but no ringing on the external phone and no missed calls either
3. Frequent call drops even though the signal strength shows all bars
I have had the phone for close to 4 months and have been constantly having these call quality issues. I have another phone on Verizon which has no such issues so it is not the network in my area. I have stopped using this phone for any important conference calls due to call quality. The issues are with calls from my home so it does not have anything to do with travel. This was my first foray into a Samsung smartphone and has been disappointing. Running the latest software version Android 4.0.4.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, call quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Do Not Purchase Unless You Live Under A Cell Tower
on January 15, 2012
Posted by: tadpole88
This phone has the worse reception of any phone that I have ever purchased.
I am not just talking 4G LTE either. Most of the US does not even have 4G and unless you are located fairly close to a cell tower reception is horrible.
In my home I have 4 different manufacturers of cell phones. We live in the country. This phone will not even make calls when the other three have no problems what so ever.
Horrible Horrible Horrible RECEPTION!!!!
Don't believe me just Google it and see how many others have the same issues.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, horrible reception unless near a tower
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The great graphics, sleek design, and speed of this phone don't make up for the fact that it doesn't function as a phone. I drop AT LEAST 4-5 calls per day. My battery barely makes it through a day (and I bought the extended battery). I can't believe this thing is rated so high?! It can only be rated this high by people who have just bought the phone and haven't fully used the phone yet.
I want to love this phone, I truly do. But until it actually functions as a phone it's a very expensive paper weight.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, drops calls, battery life (or lack thereof), low volume speaker
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Device, Bad Phone

Yes the phone has ice cream sandwich and a gorgeous screen beyond that is very lacking for the money. I waiting months for this device and when I finally got it was very disappointed. The reception on 4g is 1/2 of that on my current droid razr. The call quality is weak. The speakers are weak. Also with a dual core processor you would think that the phone could handle a live wallpaper. nope! The camera is very fast but not crisp and sharp like a 8mp one. My biggest complaint was the reception by the others were just icing on the cake to go back and re review other phones turns out the razr was the phone for me.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, poor 4g reception, speakers, camera, sluggish
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nexus is quick and ICS is nice. The battery life is poor. I have to use Juice defender to make it all day with only two short calls, a photo, and a few web pages and Facebook checks. Most of the features work better on other devices: MHL, camera etc work better on the Resound my coworker has. Beam and Wifi Direct both seem to be exclusive so good luck finding a way to use them. Call quality is worse than my old "dumb phone". Speaker is not very loud or clear. It also crashes at least once a week. I would not buy again.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, nothing is really all i expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Android Features

The phone features are fantastic. The phone has very poor cellular area coverage. My previous Blackberry worked perfect at my office and home with almost full service. The Nexus has only 1 bar at my office and no bars at my home. It drops calls constantly almost everywhere. The battery life is terrible. I purchase a 2100 battery and then a 3800 battery and it still doesn't last a 10 hour day. Tech's tell me it because the signal strength is so low in most of my areas that my phone is operating at full power?? My wifes Samsung Charge works perfect at the same locations. I've turned off 4G and everything else.. No impressed with the and disappointed in my Samsung product
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
