one way audio problem; microphone cuts out
on February 6, 2012

Purchased two brand new Galaxy Nexus phones. Immediately after activation, we started experiencing occasional phone calls in which the phone microphone would cut out abruptly. We could hear other party but they could not hear us. Failure would occur during calls that lasted over about 10 minutes. Wireless carrier suggested numerous remedies but none worked. Wireless carrier tech admitted a defect in phones and hoped a software fix might become available. Problem has been getting worse and they finally sent replacements. Both replacements are used phones with a reconditioned label on them. Will refuse and return. Have spent $$$$ for phones and acc but can't complete a phone call. Don't buy this phone until after redesign.
This problem is well documented on all the product forums in the software manufacturer, wireless carrier, and operating system web sites. Some people have gone through several phones and sim cards without relief. There are rumors of a software update in early March 2012 which may or may fix the phones numerous problems.
The phones also have a frequent problem with network access while hunting for 3G or 4G systems. Wireless carrier remedy was to manually select CDMA and turn off the 4G function. Wireless carrier also said to manually activate the WiFi feature only when located in a hotspot and that would allow the phone to connect to the data network while traveling. If you buy it before the redesign, you will up in the same situation.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, defective design, failed to perform
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The battery kills the experience
on March 7, 2012

This phone has a lot of great features. What kills the experience is the battery life. Even with the extended life battery 6-8 hours is about all you can expect with light use. Even though the phone is 4G capable, and I live in a 4G area, Verizon tells you to turn off the 4G to extend battery life. So why did I buy a 4G phone? If you contact Samsung all they tell you is to turn off a bunch of features. They don't acknowledge that they have a problem. Wait for them to come up with a fix before you buy.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: terrible battery life, poor customer support
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The power of nexus!!

This is easily one of the greatest phone that you can buy. The dual core processor along with 1gb of ram makes the phone really quick and smooth, and its also great for playing games. The display is really really really awesome. Colors look nice and vivid. The cameras are really good. The phone itself feels great in my hands.
Since this phone is a nexus it'll get the latest android os updates, and it'll get them first before other phones. Once you tap into the potential of the nexus it's no wonder why their easily the best.
If you're wondering if you should get this phone all i have to say is that you should!
Once you go nexus, you never go back
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, nexus, quick
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product has great features but lacks
on December 24, 2011

The galaxy Nexus is a great looking phone with a ton of new features that i love. It is very fast and has absolutely no lag.
Although i love this phone, the main issue that i am having with it is the poor signal quality that most everyone has been ranting about, along with extreme horrible battery life and for some reason, my mms messages will not send.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor signal quality, mms' will not send, volume and quality of speaker is horrible, insufficient battery
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst Phone I Have Ever Owned
on November 5, 2012

This is by far the worst phone ever. I had one for 3 months until it started giving me problems freezing up, ending in the middle of my calls, shutting itself down for no reason (with a full battery). I have done all factory resets and software upgrades available only to receive a replacement of the same phone and only 3 days after receiving the replacement, the phone does the same exact thing. I will not reset my phone to factory setting because its pointless to have a smartphone at that point. Something needs to be done!!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, freezes up, ends calls, backing does not fit correctly
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Issues

I am very disappointed with my new Galaxy Nexus. The phone looks great, the display is beautiful, it's lightweight and runs fairly smooth with little lag. However, there have been many problems already. The 4G has yet to work for me. I do not live in a 4G coverage area, but when I go to work or visit friends, I am in the middle of Verizon's 4G coverage in the DFW market. I sometimes show full strength 4G, only to watch the signal drop, to half, then minimum, then switch to 3G, and I haven't moved. I pull the battery and SIM card as per Verizon's tech support, power up, and watch the same thing happen again. It could be Verizon's network, but i haven't heard of this problem on another 4G phone. The texting locks up constantly, messages and pictures get stuck on sending. I try to resend, power cycle, and even battery pull yet again, but usually I have to delete the message and try again. On top of all this, the battery life is horrible. Samsung claims up to 12 hours usage. l would be happy if I got half of that. If I'm talking, and occasionally online or playing a game, my battery makes it about 4-5 hours tops, and it's on the charger again. If I'm doing a lot of gaming or online, it's about 3-4 hours. This phone looks great on paper, but from my personal experience so far, it's performance has been dismal. If this is not resolved at some point in the near future with a software/firmware upgrade, this will be the last time I purchase a Samsung product.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, terrible signal, dismal battery life, texts constantly get stuck
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Doesnt seem there was enough QA before launch

So I just like many others am suffering from signal issues. Having a phone that constantly reboots and locks up right out of the box is not ideal. I know there will be an update that fixes all of this, but this should not be launched with these types of issues. Overall the interface and hardware is great, ICS is beautiful and full of features. I miss the streaming software and hdmi output from my RAZR, but overall , im impressed with the hardware and think I will really love it when theres an update that adresses the signal issue.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, 5mp camera that beats most 8+
Cons: no integrated hdmi output, no sd card option, plagued with dropped calls and random reboots
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
