Excellent phone better than the IPhone

I bought this phone after having an IPhone 3GS for two years and I would tell anyone to take the Nexus over an IPhone in a heartbeat. The galaxy nexus is quick, responsive and packed with features. I also love the Android OS and that it came with ICS out of the box. The phone itself is amazing, and has an Incredible, indestructible screen. I use this phone without a case or screen protector something I wouldn't dare try with any other phone. My only gripe is the battery life can be quite dismal if you happen to be using 4G or GPS a lot.
Great phone plus latest Android updates...What more do you need!?!?!?!
Pros: everything
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'v had this phone for several months and primarily use it for business activities. The features are great but I don't always have the best data connectivity or cell reception. Previous phones have been great in my area, so I don't think it's the provider. Hopefully there is a future OTA update that can improve this. Otherwise, it's a nifty little phone.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: speaker quality, data connectivity
I would recommend this to a friend!

This phone does it all and then some. If there is something it doesn't do right out of the box then there is an app for it. My only problem with it is the battery life. However, there is a battery available that extends it along with an app available on Google Play that manages what drains your battery. I highly recommend getting this phone!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: battery life

Pretty much everything I expected the phone to be from all that I had read before the Galaxy Nexus LTE / CDMA was released in the US via Verizon Wireless. Overall - I'm delighted with the phone, although I'd change a couple of items if I could.
As a Google Nexus phone, the expectation is that the phone will receive frequent OS updates, and be part of Google's firmware update cycle for a longer lifespan than the average mobile phone. With GSM phones, this is clearly the case. Since this version is released via Verizon Wireless the story is a little different.
VzW controls the release of firmware for this phone. So, although Google may release updated OS versions for it, until and unless VzW decides to bless it, an official OTA (over the air) update will not be pushed to customers with this phone.
Normally, Google could / would push OS updates. But there are some binary files that control operation of the LTE radios that work over VzW's network -- and VzW won't share the source code for these via Google -- so the software for this phone isn't quite as "open" as we'd like to see for a Nexus device.
That said - it's extremely easy to unlock and root this phone for a hobbyist, and there numerous OS versions (custom "ROM"s) available with various tweaks and refinements. So - even though the average user doesn't necessarily get the benefit of frequent OS OTA updates as we might expect for a Nexus phone, there really are many options to tweak and customize this if you're inclined to do so.
Battery life is not great, but with some judicious installation of 3rd party apps, it's generally possible to get a pretty good full day out of it. Motorola got this right with a battery in the RAZR MAXX -- and this "double size" battery should be the norm in large screen Android phone. That said, I use the phone and its features quite a bit, I plug it into my PC, car or an outlet when I get a chance, and I have only once run it down to less than 10% battery in 5 months of use. So -- this could better, but it's not a serious issue.
Responsiveness, display, features - all great. Reception has been fine. WiFi excellent. I came to this after using Blackberry's for about 6 years -- and I haven't looked back once. I peeked as iPhones before getting this, and as nice as they may be, I like this a lot better -- customization, flexibility, live widgets...all much more to my liking.
Overall - great phone.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, latest android version - always, fast, easy to customize
Cons: battery life should be better
