Annoying beeper

We only had this fridge for a few days and it does what advertized: large volume to store many things. So far so good. Don't have anything bad to say so far about the fridge itself. Especially like the large door compartments that hold 4 gallons of milk without an issue. The problem is that they tried to make this fridge 'smart' and it now tells you, using an annoying beeper, when your door is open for 'too long'. In practice this means that if you are taking any amount of time to either consider your snack options or find something you are looking for, the fridge starts beeping. Why....LG....why...! Worse, there seems to be no way of turning the beeper off or at least control the volume. I wish the designers of this feature would be forced to endure this beeper for 24 hours.
Anyway, if any LG employee is reading this, please let me know if I am wrong and there is a way to turn this off, then I will be much happier and my rating will be adjusted
