Epic Size, Great Display, Rivals Mac Displays

Hello,
My name is Joshua, and I work in IT for a financial solutions company. We are a steadily growing company with new faces each day which means new equipment that has to be purchased and setup. When it comes down to it, we end up ordering either a Mac or a PC setup. If it ends up being a PC Setup we still go with Samsung but with their 22" or 24" monitors instead of the 27" unless requested. However, with a Mac setup we always go towards the 27" H850.
This Monitor is amazing. It is easy to put together, even easier to setup with a Mac laptop due to the USB-C capabilities and tethering. You can set this up just like you would a Mac Display. It allows for charging on a Mac directly from he Monitors power source which is ultra convenient and cuts down on cord clutter. You can also supply network directly into the monitor to be transmitted through the USB-C into the Mac. It truly is a one stop shop Monitor. For the price, it can be a bit steep but, I can't speak to much on it as I am not buying these with my own money so I do not feel the cost. For everything it offers though, I would say it is worth close to it's original price.
My only gripe (and this wouldn't be a serious review if I didn't have at least one issue) with the Monitor is the back plate. While somewhat easy to pop off if you have access to it, it congests all of the cords through one hole in the center of the plate. The USB-C port being fairly far from this hole. What this means is that while you have decent cable management, other issues are created as a side effect. Some users when trying to adjust their Monitors left/right and somehow they lose connection to their Mac, the Monitor powers off suddenly, or they lose network capabilities. It's kind of a pain.
My solution: Ditch the Back plate if you don't mind a bit of cords hanging around and you have one solid monitor by Samsung.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had this monitor for 4 months now and I have had no problems. The picture is great and I love to be able to switch views from horizontal to portrait

Fantastic panel, excellent quality & features

i bought two of these, primarily for design and video editing work. the panel in this monitor is fantastic. great viewing angles, vibrant and accurate colours (not factory calibrated afaik).
i actually didn't realise how good this display looked until i recently bought a 4k lg ips monitor. the colours, brightness and blacks are all better on this samsung monitor. i returned the lg for a dell 4k ips which looks far more similar too this side by side (albeit with a higher resolution).
looks perfect next to an imac too. brightness isn't quite as high but colour depth is on-par and blacks are deeper on the samsung.
4 stars for value - it was expensive for a 2k monitor
