Great center speaker

I was pleasantly surprised that this small center speaker can keep up with the studio 590 speakers. Not only does it keep up but it blends flawlessly. I own several large center speakers like SVS Ultra center and Klipsch rc-64 ii both great speakers and wasn't to worried about having a center that worked in my system. Decide to try the studio 520C, I like to have systems that match. Vocals are crisp and clear and music sounds great. Crossed it over at 80hz and surprisingly get decent base out of it for the size woofers it has. I think it would be nice if JBL made a larger center so you have the opportunity to chose something with larger woofers, but all in all this center works much better than I thought it would, and couldn't be happier with the combination. Great job JBL PS. Had the JBL LS center and wasn't nearly as happy with it vocals were sometimes hard to hear. The 520C is much more clear

Really good sound!

I originally bought this to use with my 590/530 setup running of just AVR power, Tried it both with a Pioneer 140WPC and a Sony ZA5000ES 125WPC, Both sounded ok but I seemed to be missing the punch, Well I bought a good class a/b amp running 165WPC and OH MY GOD! After running Audyssey on my new Denon X4500 there is PLENTY of punch from this little underrated jewell. Many people said this center is not very good and doesn't equal the 590 output, GIVE IT POWER, It will amaze you! I have also had the Infiniti RC263 and Klipsch RP450, The Infiniti is a really good center but did not match the sound well, the klipsch, Well my ears hurt and sounded like a hollow tin can.
Studio 520 center channel ,replaced image dynamics B1000 center speaker. The jbl is bigger and it sounds very clean . Paired with the studio tower speakers , the front sound stage sounds great.

I used to own now older BL 4430 Studio Monitor Speakers (Baby Bumm Compression Driver) and always loved the way they sound, so I figured this 520C Center speaker and 2ea JBL Studio 590's would give me something close to that signature sound from JBL in a surround sound package, glad I picked these I find them Warm, musical and outstanding detail - specs below for 520C
The sound is perfect and loud so if you see those deals get it right away if you’re lucky to catch them

Best speaker I own

Wow! I’ve owned allot of speakers in my life and this one is by far the best I’ve ever owned. I would buy the complete set if I could. It has that classic bright jbl tweeter that is lively but not blaring or hissy. The soundfield from this center speaker is the widest I’ve ever experienced. The sound is warm and smooth. Not much bass, but you can hear it’s there for a full range response. I love the sound of horns as a jazz fan. My only complaint is the symbol sounds could be a little sharper and solid sounding. I’m just amazed at how one speaker can fill the room, have such definition and smoothness to it. Amazing!
