Great features - Poor design

Purchased this refrigerator in January. When it was delivered we read the Owners Manual carefully and found that this model will not automatically restart after a power failure. It seems someone must be physically present to clear the power failure alert on the control panel before the fridge will restart. Useless to anyone who may travel away from home. No one wants to come home to a fridge full of rotting and/or defrosted food.

You are correct, the unit does not return back to normal operation after a power failure until the alert has been acknowledge. Disappointed

We bought this fridge over 7 years ago, and have had trouble with it for the last 5 years. The front of the crisper drawers broke after one year, the ice maker never worked (we didn't know this until hooking it up to our waterline after one year of purchase), the interior light hasn't worked consistently, it beeps randomly (we learned the magnetic sensor wasn't working), then it finally quit working altogether. We've paid to have it fixed twice in the past, and now the repair person has finally advised us to buy a new fridge. If we wrote this review after only one year, it would be more favourable; however, it is a shame for an appliance this large to hit the landfill this soon.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

not a happy camper

This was delivered 5 days ago. It sounds like water is running constantly but i have not hooked up the water line yet. The compressor is very loud. The cracking noises are loud enough to wake me in the night. Inside the fridge it has 3 left side shelves and only 1 on the right. They are not interchangeable. I am left with 2 very short, basically unusable, shelves. After reading many reviews here (while on hold for customer service) I learned that this fridge will not turn back on automatically after a power outage. This is a problem where I live. This Island has many power outages. I called customer service and was on hold for 24 minutes until they hung up on me. I tried "contact us" on the website and filled out the form.. After hitting enter the form went blank and no confirmation that it had been sent or received. I ordered this fridge in August 2019. I have been waiting 8 months for it to arrive. I am very disheartened with this brand and hope they will replace it with a unit that wont keep me awake all night!

Holding my breath

I must start by saying when I read reviews and you have only owned the fridge a few weeks, well people of course you love it, its a honeymoon phase. We purchased in October. For the most part I love the fridge. It is spacious, has lots of options and looks great. Sure it makes some sound, but any appliance has to make a sound when working ! Its not noisy enough to disturb us. BUT that being said its now 4 months into owning and already having problems with ice maker. Checked manual, googled information. Called company only to be on hold for ever. I am not sure about the rest of you but my 45 minutes of waiting is time I do not have. Unless I could be sipping an icy cold beverage while waiting, but wait I can't! I am going to set aside some time to dedicate to contact company and hopefully try to get my 4 month old fridge's ice maker working. So that being said I am holding my breath on my final opinion on this fridge.

Terrible Design re Power Failures!

So apparently Frigidaire thought it makes sense to have a fridge that won’t turn automatically back on when the power comes back after a power outage. Someone has to manually press the Alert Reset inside the door to have it turn back on. Don’t buy this fridge if you live in cottage country or anywhere that might experience power failures!

Not a great choice but better than nothing.

The loud noises are annoying but I am used to them now and it does really phase me, there are a lot of pop, and creaks, and bangs.
The fridge does what it needs to do, it stays cold, it freezes well (even with a packed freezer), I do not use the ice maker (wish it was not there to have more space in that section), so functionally it is ok. The only functional issue was that the heated bar on the door that folds in and out when you open and close the fridge had to be replaced after a year as it was broken.
The main issue that I have had with it is the larger(deeper) door bins are all cracking/cracked, we do not over stuff our bins and we do not slam our doors(as best we can, sometimes it slips from my hand), but all of them have cracks and one has a large piece that broke off.
The deli drawer in always making noise when it opens and closes, a grinding noise.
It is very difficult to clean the drawers because you have to take the whole thing out and disassemble them, which in itself is a nightmare. The wheels on the drawers are also very bad they are all crumbling where they are screwed in.
I think overall the quality of the fridge is quite low, and the engineering is quite poor. There are many things that could have been done better, but for what I consider the budget fridge it is just ok. I don't think I will purchase another fridge from Frigidaire in the future, because it just does not seem to hold up well over time.
I tried to call today and they are so busy that they said call back another time on the recording, that is not a good sign.

DIED before the 6th year

We bought this refrigerator thinking that is was a higher end that we would get many many years out of it. Turns out just under the six year mark the compressor died. To replace this part is almost the cost of a new fridge and hard to find someone willing to do the job. We did our research before buying a a new appliances and thought we picked a good company. We were wrong... We also bought the stove, microwave fan combo and the dishwasher so they would all match. What a disappointment. Appliances are not built to last. We have a 1950's fridge in our garage that has outlasted all of these appliances.
