I bought this last year and never left a review and decided to now. I've gotta say, I honestly don't know why more manufacturers don't make 2k displays. It's the perfect budget option for gamers, where it just not 4k but still beautiful and playable. Colors are vivid and great. The base leaves something up to the imagination, not much flexibility with it and no premade mounting solutions. Also the IO is kinda irritating. It has 1 HDMI, 1 MiniDP, and 1 Power In. The thing that frustrates me the most is that this monitor is extremely picky about hdmi cables so if you need a longer one then what is included be careful browsing for longer cables.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Quality Picture but...

Was very happy with the picture quality and the overall aesthetics with the thin bezel. The small amount of input choices was underwhelming and my monitors didn't come with any micro d-port to d-port cables. The thing that really threw me was the lack of VESA mounting options, as I assumed this would be standard for any modern monitor so I didn't even check specifications for this option. Added to the fact that there's no aftermarket mounting options for this particular model, plus no vertical height adjustments puts a large negative in my book. As it stands, the screens are mounted too low with no way to adjust them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No mounting options?

I purchased this monitor and it works great as a modern, curved monitor for work. A few months later I wanted to mount the monitor on a mounting arm. I was a bit surprised to find that there isn't a "mount square" on the back of this monitor - I've never seen that before in a modern monitor. I've googled online but haven't found any information on how to mount this monitor to a mounting arm.
If you plan to mount this monitor, be sure it supports external mounting first.

Looks great but has poor resolution at least with MacBook Pro 13"

I will preface with saying I had planned on buying a 27" monitor. Ended up getting the 32". Not sure if it is just too big for using for working on documents etc and would be better suited for gaming despite not sold as a gaming monitor where you might be positioned further away from the screen. For reference I have almost 2ft between center of monitor and my eyes.
I have exhausted all options to optimize resulution both via Macbook System Preferences/Display and the Samsung Monitor 'JOG Button'. I was able to tweak the sharpness to where it is decent but not acceptable for a $400+ monitor in my opinion. I have used my new MacBook Pro Retina display for a few weeks. Could be that am used to the immense clarity of it and need more time to adjust to a 'regular' monitor. I am also currently using an iMac 27" desktop with Retina and also have an iMac 21" that is older with no Retina but yet has better resolution sharpness than this Samsung Curved monitor.
I will update my review in another few days if I decide to keep this monitor.
Cons: Too big, Did not meet expectations, Not high def, poor resolution sharpness
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fantastic picture quality with a big but

I purchased two of these monitors a few months ago, one for work and one for home. The video quality is great. However, there was an oversight regarding audio out as my home PC only has HDMI and Digital Audio out. My previous monitor had an 3.5mm audio out so I could connect my speakers to the monitor. Unfortunately, I can't do the same with this monitor. Finding a simple computer speaker that supports digital audio out is almost impossible. If there was an audio out on this monitor, it'd be prefect.

Dead on Arrival

I received this monitor as a gift for christmas. I unpackaged the monitor, plugged it into the HDMI, and there is a white bar that runs across the right side of the screen. As I attempt to submit a request for service, I continuously get an error on the symptom page. Looks like I may be stuck with a dead monitor. Thanks Samsung!

I gave this monitor 4 stars because it’s lacking mounting option and no welcome screen when turn on the monitor which makes it lack that premium feel and look. However the picture quality is excellent and that’s what really matters at the end. I definitely recommend this monitor!!!

Awesome Accurate Color for 1.4-Hdmi 1080p Laptop

I purchased this about a month ago, after being disillusioned with the upgraded display on my 4 year old laptop, and quite frankly was worried that its' 1080p1.4-Hdmi output wouldn't even drive it. The Samsung CH711 27" QLED really opened my eyes what's possible, delivering Awesome Accurate Color and a level Clarity and Detail that far exceeded my expectations, plus this monitor is Amazing for watching DVD movies as well; so if you create content and have an older laptop, this may be for you too!
