The motor failed and it cost over half the price of a new washer to fix just in labor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Terrible 5 years in and the bearing is gone + smoking. This specific model I guess you need to replace the outer tub you can;t just replace the bearings and it's a weak point for these washers. Similar cost to buying a new washer.. Likely why it was discontinued. If you are reading reviews to buy a used product steer clear of this one.
Pros: ease of use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washing machine 5 years ago next month. We have 7 people in our family and the washing machine is going almost every day of the week. We just recently had to have the drain pump replaced- but I’d say our usage has probably been closer to about 10 years for a “normal” size family. Other brands have not done as well! Still pleased with this washing machine.
Pros: ease of use, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality
We have used our washing machine now for 2 1/2 years and have been happy with our choice. This is my first front loader so I was a bit curious how it would go. I am glad I purchased the extended warranty to rest better.
This machine is about a year old. I bought it because my top loader was causing my clothes to smell badly. This machine is far worse! It causes my clothes to smell like gear oil! Not only does it make my clothes smell badly, it is often out of balance and bangs around all over the laundry room. It is impossible to re balance! Finally, on many occasions, it does not spin completely, leaving my clothes soaking wet! I'm about ready to toss it off my balcony! Never again! When I am able, I'll toss it and get another top loader!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

" Hello, as per the manual, some environmental and usage conditions can cause a residue to build up in the tub over time and can lead to a mildewy or musty smell. The Tub Clean cycle is specially designed to remove this buildup using bleach or other cleaners designed specifically for cleaning washing machines. Run the Tub Clean cycle once a month, or more often under heavy use conditions or if odor is present. As for the out of balance and banging, that can be a sign the clothing is out of per-portion or the unit needs to have its leveling checked. ^AC
Very difficult to use, impossible to program to spin only, without washing load for second time. A separate "extra spin" button is needed because of weak motor. I had a front loader from different manufacturer before-clothes came out of washer almost dry. Operation is made even more difficult by markings on machine which have worn off completely after 4 years. All in all, should have gotten a less costly, less hyped machine with a spin cycle.
Pros: Style/Design

Hello, as per the manual on page 25, The Spin Speed button also activates the Drain & Spin cycle to drain the tub and spin clothes; for example, if you want to remove clothes before the cycle has ended. Simply press Power > Spin Speed > Start. ^AC
We purchased this model about 6 months ago. It does clean well however no matter what size of load we put in the unit it gets unbalanced during spin. I have tried filling the washer more, and less. Doing load of all sheets or all towels so everything is of the same weight and still in has troubles spinning, always the load is off balanced. I wish I had chosen a different washer.
