This is a great light! My husband and I both have one.
My husband is a mechanic and he uses his all day, every day. His co-workers have followed his lead and gotten their own. This light gives the amount of light he needs to see what he’s doing, and allows him to use both hands to tackle the job. It is not bulky either, so he can get his head in where he needs to see without hitting the light on everything.
I use mine for hiking and snowshoeing trips. I can put this light on low to see where I’m going on a trail, then turn up the brightness and focus the light to survey farther ahead and around me. When I get to camp, I leave it on low and set up camp. I oftentimes hang it up and use it for a camp light. It’s lightweight so it’s ideal for backpacking trips, and it’s weather resistant so it can take the abuse of hiking up a mountain during a winter storm with non-stop mix of rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet.

I had a hl7 for many years, ate up the batteries but was bright as all get out! Decided to update to the hl7r. Same great tough quality. As a heavy equipment mechanic no matter how bright the garage is, it's always dark under the vehicle, truck, or piece of equipment. When I get to work I toss this on my head and there it sits for the day. Sometimes turned on most of the day, some times only turned on for short periods. After having this head lamp for a year now the battery is starting to not hold a charge on the long days. The USB charger is an awesome upgrade. But on the next revision I would suggest the charger port being in the battery itself. That way for the ones who use it for hours at a time one battery pack can be in use and the other one could be charging. The other mechanics in the shop have started buying these up to because I failed kindergarten and sharing isn't something I'm good at!

We own several of these on our farm. Invaluable. Stays on your head, bright, and easy to angle up or down. Coast replaced one for me when I had a problem with one, I can’t say enough good things about their customer service.

This light is great! I love how you can adjust the brightness from really bright to really dim. It's also cool that you can adjust from a flood beam to a spot beam. The best part is it's rechargeable.
