Received this after I took out an older one of these which has been hanging in the work shop as a back up for some time. I took the back up out of the packaging and found it did not work at all, even though I had pushed the "Push Me" button just before I opened and it worked fine. So, I took out the batteries, checked polarity & reinserted. I received a momentary flicker of full power light, then it died immediately. I didn't even have time to close the cover before it went dark. Tested the batteries--the testor showed an A- to B+ level. Used a second tester--same result. Inserted new batteries--full power for an instant then dead. Those new batteries also were tested on 2 testors-- A+ Level on each. So I contacted Coast, told them my issue and they sent me a new headlamp at their expense, which works perfectly. So now I'm looking around the house and cars, to see if there's any place where I could use a new Coast product. And if anyone asks me about a good flashlight to buy, I'll tell them Coast.
