I got the art set for my 3 year old for Christmas. He is using the chalk for his chalkboard, the large eraser for chalkboard and dry erase board. While I was beside him, having prepared the paints in the cups and cut paper from the included roll, he spent a long while creating 5 paintings. The paints were washable and he did some finger painting with them too, but he cleaned up well with soap and water. Great set for ages 3 and up!

Why would the companion accessory kit not contain a paper roll that fits the Melissa and Doug easel?!

Defective Dry Erase Marker!

I love Melissa & Doug and their toys but the dry erase marker that comes with this set ruined the dry erase board - my two year old excitedly wrote all over the dry erase board when she got this gift on Christmas morning and the marker doesn't erase, leaving permanent scribbles all over the board! We had other dry erase markers on hand and tried those; they erased fine so it appears to be a problem with the marker. Check that it works on a small spot before using all over the board!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My girls love to paint all the time. I bought a different brand easel that cost less years ago but it was only used for a short time. Melissa and Dougs design makes their easel fun,easy to use and clean up.I would all so suggest that you buy the easel companion set to.
Pros: Durable, Easy Assembly, Entertaining, Fun, Great Value
