Skepticism turned to wow!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Panasonic Countertop Induction Oven is an amazing appliance.
When I first pulled the CIO out of the box, my initial reaction was that it was giant and that it takes up an ton of counter space. My second reaction was that there were a lot of buttons and it looked complicated to use. The oven came with an instruction manual and a recipe book. The instruction manual looked like all other instruction manuals, black and white and boring, so I immediately opened the colorful recipe book. The recipe book contains approximately 29 recipes for a variety of meats, seafood, and vegetables. Every recipe looked delicious and many of the recipes seemed more elaborate than my cooking abilities, but the recipes also contained specific instructions for the CIO's settings.
To the shock of my husband and guests who all assumed I would cook frozen pizza in the CIO (which you easily can!), I made Cornish hens. I followed the recipe. The cookbook gives specific instructions on how to prepare the dish and how to use the oven. Note that I still have not opened the instruction manual. The hens turned out perfect. They were moist and delicious. The dinner tasted as if it were prepared at a fancy restaurant. The entire preparation and cook time for the hens was 30 minutes. My guests were thoroughly wowed by the oven! For a gal with limited culinary skills, this was beyond impressive!
The cookbook included is great and contains many recipes, but I wanted to explore other options. I searched the Internet for another cookbook and recipes posted on the Web. Nothing! This is such a new form of technology that nothing exists! I was extremely disappointed. I am sure that more cookbooks will exist in the near future, but for now there was nothing.
I have limited skills in the kitchen. I am uninspired and not creative with ingredients. But I really wanted to try something else in my new, amazing countertop induction oven. So I finally open my user manual. Every possible type of food you can prepare in the oven is included in the manual with instructions on how to make basic preparations. (Yes, I should have looked at the manual sooner!)
I decided to try pork chops. I seasoned the chops as I would if I were to grill them outside. I cooked the chop as the instruction manual noted. In 20 minutes, I had perfectly prepared pork chops that tasted as if I had cooked them on the grill, but better! The CIO gave me the ability to have have grilled, moist, delicious meat when it was 6 degrees outside!
The Panasonic Countertop Induction Oven is an amazing product. It is easy to learn to use, easy to use, and cleans with little effort. The oven' abilities vastly exceed the negative thoughts I had about the amount of counter space the appliance consumes. The lost counter space is worth the trade off for the meals that can be easily and quickly prepared in the oven.

Cooking in the CIO

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Panasonic Countertop Induction Oven free, in exchanged for my honest review of the product. My first impression was that the oven must be HUGE when it was delivered! Thankfully it was just packed really well and the oven is not as big as the box it comes in. I've never used and induction oven before, so there's definitely a learning curve involved! There are a lot of buttons and very detailed instructions, but it takes a while to get the hang of it! If you like new electronics with tons of bells and whistles, then this oven is for you! I have made countless chicken dishes and really enjoy baking in it too. The grill pan washes up nicely and the oven doesn't take up too much space on the counter. I wish that the cookbook that comes with the oven had some easier (normal!!) recipes in it. They are pretty fancy and my kids are picky eaters! I hope to be able to use this oven for years to come! Thank you House Party!

The best appliance I never knew I needed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this oven from free Panasonic and House Party in exchange for my honest opinion, so here it is.
I was very excited to receive this appliance, who wouldn't be, but I had no idea what to expect. It looks like a glorified toaster oven but it claims to do so much more.
Straight out of the box, it works easily using the quick start guide to get going. The first thing I made was the deep dish pizza recipe from the included cookbook and it turned out perfectly. My family loved it and I was sold! It baked perfectly and much quicker than anticipated.
I have used the oven for different things almost every day since I received it. I've made the pizza, steak, chicken, cookies, baked pancakes, frozen pizza, toast, and frozen snacks. The only thing I wasn't completely in love with were the cookies. They were darker than I would normally bake them to, but not burnt. They tasted great, but I wasn't crazy about the grill lines in them. A cheap aluminum pan fixed this issue.
Which brings me to the pros and cons of the oven.
Pros:
Preheats quickly and some things don't require preheating
Grills like magic
Heats food evenly
The pan/tray is super easy to clean. stuck on food seems to melt off under hot water.
Lots of settings to cook in different ways
It's portable, which sounds weird, but I moved it out of my kitchen onto a cart in my dining room during a party. It was so great to be able to heat more food as we all talked and I could see myself bringing it out of the kitchen for sports parties and other events. It was nice to be with my friends instead of stuck in the kitchen.
Cons:
It doesn't have a large capacity, don't plan on making meals that are too big
The bulbs on top are fairly exposed, so if steaks pop on the extremely hot grill, the bulbs get dirty. If you don't let the oven cool and clean it before the next use, you wind up with quite a bit of smoke. That makes switching from one item to the next difficult sometimes
It's a little noisy
The design has the tray going under pegs on either side of the oven, these pegs scratch the nonstick surface, but this doesn't effect the performance of the oven as it is not an area the touches food. It really irritates me though.
Over all, I really love this tool. With it's current size limitations and high price, I can't say that it is indispensable to the average person. If you can afford it, however, it is definitely something that is worth owning. I imagine that condos or apartments with small kitchens might find this countertop induction oven a lifesaver, especially during hot months.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Panasonic countertop induction oven for free from House Party and Panasonic and all of the following opinions are my own. I have had my Panasonic countertop induction oven for two weeks. It is a sleek looking appliance and doesn't take up too much counter space. It is no larger than a microwave. . I have used it five times since I received it and after following recipes and directions I have discovered that it is really quite easy and quick to make meals that taste just like ones from the oven or the grill. My first recipe was a grilled teriyaki steak and it was a delicious and it was quite quick. It held 4 regular sized NY strip steaks. After a user error of not realizing when the preheating was done, the recipe was easy. It can cook vegetables and protein at the same time which is a real time saver. I love that I can use it in addition to my Oven for even more time saving. Clean up is fantastic. Everything slides off of the grill pan and it is dishwasher safe. The only improvement I wish it had was a louder beep or indication that the preheating was done. Other than that, I'm really happy with my new CIO.

Awesome! New! Different!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start by saying that I love new appliances/gadgets. Anything that can make dinner time more enjoyable/less stressful when cooking for my family of seven. This is such a neat concept and I have never seen anything like it. It definitely has a learning curve and requires following the directions. The beep that it is finished preheating was not heard in my kitchen with the noise of my kids, and I did not know that the preheat button flashes when it is preheated, I assumed it would stop being lit at all, so initially I kept wondering how long it would take to preheat. My bad....dinner was delayed that night...
The tray is extremely heavy, but durable, and best of all, super easy to clean, albeit hot for quite a long time afterwards. This is such a cool idea and I am incredibly thankful I got to try it first and for free. Thank you House Party and Panasonic! #myCIO

The Amazing Mini Oven
on December 18, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, we received the Panasonic Induction Oven for free through House Party. I wasn't too sure about it when I received it, but I have been using it almost EVERY single day. This is a great "mini" oven that would be a great addition in any kitchen. My first thought was that it would be great in a dorm room or a small NY apartment. I make dinner almost every single night for my family and this lil' oven has been an awesome accessory. You can cook anything you would in your full sized oven, but do it quicker and without heating up your entire home. I love using it for grilling sweet potatoes and other veggies for a great healthy snack.

It's Like Cooking Magic!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the idea of this counter top oven. I was really excited to receive this product for free to review. I used the oven for a full three weeks so I could give an honest and thorough review. There are pros and cons to this handy device so let's break it down!
Pros:
-The oven is black and stainless steel so it can blend well with black or stainless steel appliances.
-Set up was quick and easy.
-Cleanup is a cinch. I never put the included tray in the dishwasher because the surface wiped clean with a soapy dishrag, even after grilling meat with sauce.
-Cooking is faster than in a standard oven. I could roast most vegetables in under 10 minutes. It normally takes my oven about that long just to heat up.
Cons:
-It takes up a serious chunk of counter space. Seriously, this is the only drawback I experienced. If you have very little counter space it might be a squeeze.
All in all, I have really enjoyed this oven. I have plenty of space so it works for me. I envision myself using this oven mostly for one pan meals and especially for the extra space while entertaining. I hosted a dinner party recently and was able to cook my appetizers on the counter top while the entrees cooked in the oven. The best thing about this device is that once you learn which cooking mode and time works best for your dish, you can set it and go off to take care of other things. I am so happy I got to try this out!

Huge countertop appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Panasonic Countertop Induction Oven for free as part of a promotion through House Party. I have used the oven multiple times and for the most part I am pleased with the oven. It really is quite big to sit on the countertop so it doesn't fit in well in my kitchen, but we have put the toaster oven away and now the CIO sits where the toaster oven formerly lived. I love that the CIO can make full dinners in far less time than it would take in my conventional oven. It's easy to use for reheating pizza (or making whole frozen pizzas) and it also works great for grilling sandwiches. I have mixed feelings about using it to grill burgers. One must take extra steps afterward in order to clear the oven before using it for other items. It's very easy to clean the tray, despite the weight of the tray itself. All in all, I would recommend the CIO. It is spendy, but it is useful for far more than a microwave and it's a welcome addition to my kitchen appliances.
