The leg connector unit for one side was missing. Have not yet used the item and may not until parts are obtained. Basic product seems fine. Initial call for product support did not seem to know how to obtain the missing parts.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A design flaw makes this unit hard to clean: too bad for a unit that actually cooks well. The design flaw is compounded by the owners manual which was apparently written by someone who had not followed his own directions for cleaning. There is no diagram on the schematic showing the grilling element assembly, which is casually referred to in the cleaning instructions as held in place by wing nuts (actually two regular screws, two springs, and two rubber gaskets). The heating element has to be removed in order to clean the inside of the grill. Add to this that the clearances are such that you risk some nasty scratches from the supporting structures. The unit works well on non-fatty meats, but is not designed to deal with fatty hamburgers as the drip pan is too small to handle the runoff.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
