As a former kindergarten teacher and mother of a special needs child, I have to say that I recommend basically ANY Melissa and Doug toy for the development of children. I have dozens and dozens of their products (from a 5 foot giraffe to role play costumes to puzzles to wooden food to shape manipulatives) and have never been let down. My daughter used this set at the local Children's Museum and loved it. It was under the tree at Christmas and she plays with it every day. Wonderful for imaginative play and it has encouraged my son (with special needs) to play together! I recommend their products to all my friends and have bought and donated many of their products to my children's local preschools. Thanks Melissa and Doug! Keep up the great work!

Bought this 7 years ago for my first granddaughter it came with a little wooden tray they fit in. I still have them and they are in great condition.
Pros: Easy Assembly, Entertaining, Fun, Interactive, Realistic

I absolutely LOVE Melissa & Doug play foods, they are not only cute and fun to play with but their level of quality and safety surpasses any of the other cheap plastic toy foods you'll find in stores, most of which you have to worry about where it came from and if the paints and chemicals used to make them will harm your children. I highly recommend these adorable play foods to everyone! I know my children LOVE playing with them almost as much as I do :]
