My three year old daughter received this as a gift from her Aunt. All three of my children ages 5, 3 and 19 Months have been playing with the cupcakes for HOURS. The only thing I have noticed is that their hands are green and blue from the markers. I am sure it will wash off eventually and it is a small price to pay for them being entertained for so long!

Great Company Stands Behind Fun Toy

Like the other parents who have commented, my three-year-old daughter really enjoys this toy and often takes it out and plays with it on her own--six weeks after receiving it as a gift for her birthday. I, too, have been having trouble with the dry-erase "icing" markers for decorating the cupcakes: It was so hard to wipe my daughter's old designs off the plastic frosting that she started using the underside of the frosting caps to create new designs. Finally I called customer service: They recommended using a DAMP cloth to wipe of the "dry-erase" markers. I felt like a bozo for not thinking of it myself, but, otherwise, it was a great customer service experience. (I still can't get the dry-erase-marker marks off the wooden cupcakes, but the wooden cupcakes are not intended for use with the markers.) I, too, think this is a great toy for both boys and girls.
Pros: Attractive Design, Entertaining, Fun, Interactive, Long Lasting, No assembly required, Realistic
Cons: Not Washable

This little cupcake set is FABULOUS! Our granddaughter loves taking them apart and decorating them with the "frosting" pens. The little birthday candles on top are adorable. Great safe way to practice blowing out BD candles. Well made and easy to take apart and put back together. Mix n Match.

I love Melissa and Doug togs especially food! This one is an exemption! The tips don't fit snugly in the cupcakes, the markers don't write well on the cupcakes but do in everything else, the wrappers are paper and were crumpled in 5 minutes flat, and the Velcro is not as good quality as it is in their other products. I am highly disappointed with this one and cupcakes are her favorite dessert and I was so excited about this gift. :(

Absolutely love this gift given to my grandson for his birthday! He and his little friends have so much fun decorating and blowing the candles out. Only problem which became a major one was the blue marker traveled to the bedroom and little hands used it to color ALL over my brand new white furniture and it will not come off! Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Otherwise, this is a wonderful toy!
