My daughter loves that she can decorate her cupcakes with the washable "icing". It really encourages imaginative play. She also imitates baking/cooking just like at home when Mum cooks, learning to be a big helper in the kitchen:)

My 3 children love these cupcakes! i thought my daughters would like it best, but my son really enjoys this as well! i love knowing it will last forever since its made of wood! the kids have tons of hours of fun with these. only suggestion would be that the flame would be able to flap down when you blow on them. that would be super cute!! Love it!

I love these cupcakes. I got them for my 3 year old daughter, and she loves to play with them. The only reason I didnt give it all stars is that I think they should have made the entire cupcake dry erase material, not just the icing part. The cupcakes are wooden, which is what I normally like, but for this toy it gets annoying because if the marker gets on the wood, it's really hard to get off, if you can at all. All in all, though it's a great toy and great for imaginative play, goes well in my daughter's kitchen.
Pros: Durable, Easy Assembly, Entertaining, Fun, Great Value, Interactive, Realistic
Cons: Not good for a neat freak

My daughter's babysitter bought this for her for Christmas and we play with it every day. She's two and a half and is always making new designs on the icing, mixing and matching the icing colors with the candle colors. I will definitely look for the Melissa and Doug label the next time I'm buying for her or other children.

While this is cute, it isn't really kid friendly. The icing markers don't wash off easily. The cupcake cups are paper which were crumbled after the first time playing and don't really fit the pan. One of the wooden cupcakes was cracked. Wouldn't recommend.
