Gas Range with Convection Roast/Bake

Bought this the first of this year. Had never used a gas range before. Was unpleasantly surprised at how much heat left the stove for my kitchen - cooking on this made kitchen much hotter than my old electric stove. Purchased gas because I wanted a oven to both convection roast and convection bake along with regular stove eyes rather than ceramic stove top in a stand-alone stove. Like the way the gas top of range eyes cook. Oven is slower to pre-heat than I have been used to. Instruction pamphlet does not include enough information for a new to gas cooking person like me. I need a dedicated cookbook for this stove similar to the one that came with my 199? GE electric range with convection bake/roast oven (that was replaced by new
gas range). I would look at other brands to find an electric stove with features I want rather than by this range if I had it to do over again.

I absolutely love the convection oven and the cast iron grill plate in the center and love how easy it is to clean the grates. Easy to cook and bake on and easy to clean. BUT the oven light keeps burning out and they are expensive to replace. So I have no light in the oven... small irritation is all.

I love the range of flame that is available from max to min. I couldn't cook rice at altitude with my old electric but can adjust this to the correct point to cook rice at high altitude. The only draw back was lack of a warming drawer on this model.

Not crazy about it

Bought it a year ago. This will be list of things that I do not like about the stove: Once the timer is set, you cannot tell that it is counting down until a full minute has passed; the surface is difficult to clean, because you have to remove the large, heavy cast grids(?); large burners are at the front of the stove, so if you have large and small pots cooking at the same time, you have reach around/over the large pots to stir those in back (most sauces are made in smaller pots and require more stirring), also with the larger burners in front, more heat is released into the kitchen rather than drawn up into the ventilation hood.
Now on to the oven: The set up of the display panel can be confusing and it is easy to turn off the oven while changing the oven temp or setting/resetting the timer; the convection oven DOES NOT WORK - twice I have purchased two Papa Murphy's pizzas and baked them using the convection oven. The second time, I heated the oven for a full 45 minutes. The pizza on the top rack was cooked on top, but the bottom of the crust was literally white, after the normal baking time in a regular oven. The pizza on the on the bottom had a nice golden brown crust on the bottom, but the top of the pizza was not close to being done. I had to switch the pizzas around (defeats the purpose of the convection oven) and cook them for twice as long as normal in my old basic oven. I am calling to have service department try to fix this, but I believe this is simply how it works. Will update my review IF they are able to fix the convection oven system.

Easy to clean

Bought this in May and am still getting used to it. I was shocked to have to calibrate the oven as it was 15 degrees too hot. Didn't realize it til I ruined a few baking recipes! The oven light has burned out twice in 4 months too. I never had to replace the light in my other GE ranges in the time I had them. Overall I like it but these are red flags for me.
