Poor venting

This oven is poorly ventilated. Watch out when opening the oven door, as scalding steam escapes every time -- regardless of what is baking or roasting.

A solid, no fuss, competent oven

Most modern ovens seem to compete for the greatest number of features. Our previous oven even required WIFI access for correct operation! No this Bosch oven! It simply does what you set the knobs for. One is for mode and the other temperature. We can count on it to perform correctly and well every time we use it. It bakes, roasts, broils, and warms more evenly and better than any other household oven we have used.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used the Bosch 500 over for 4 months. It works perfectly even though the frame was damaged in shipment. Because of low Inventory I am still waiting for a replacement.
I had a little bit of a learning curve when I tried to use the broiler. I thought it was broken, but the serviceman explained that the oven door had to be shut in order for the broiler to work.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My concerns with this appliance

The reason I insisted on buying Bosch was that my old oven was a Thermador, and I was told that BOSCH was the replacement since they do not make that brand anymore. My old oven was incredibly safe and reliable.
I want to share my concerns because it is a safety issue.
1- When I bake and broil food in this oven, and I open the oven to take the food item out all the steam/extremely hot air or vapor comes out. When we first bought this item, i almost burned my arms and face, It was serious and scary. Now I learned to open it a little while I am standing on the side, relaease that hot air and then take out or check my food. If there is any way you can help me with this problem I would really appreciate it.
2- When the timer for the oven goes off, the oven does not turn off, it goes back to the set baking temperature. So what is the use for the timer. My cake was over cooked (Thankfully not burnt) because I relied on the timer while doing something else outside the kitchen.

Bosch Wall Oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the clean, simple look of the oven and the controls make it easy to use. Takes longer to preheat than my old oven, apparently because it doesn't have exposed heating element. But that also makes it roomier and easy to clean.

Too simple

And I thought this would be adequate,?however you can't have have the clock showing while cooking, or if you can I haven't figured out how. It also has so few features that it is easy to forget to turn it off. It needs a red indicator somewhere
