Nice device for the golfer - but....

I bought this watch about a month ago & really like it so far. Distances seem VERY accurate and it's nice to not have to worry about carrying a cellphone or other device in your pocket. A couple things bug me though - I have it connected to my phone via bluetooth, but to review scorecards and make setting changes I'd like to do that on my iPad. Problem is ~ it will NOT connect to my iPad. I've talked to tech support and tried turning off the phone, turning it back on, restarting both devices, etc...all the normal troubleshooting ideas and NOTHING works!!
My other gripe is the lack of documentation. Yeah I know....it's all "online", but finding the exact answer to your question is not always easy. Tutorials, user reviews and video "unboxings" can only tell you so much. It would be nice to have a THOROUGH online manual at least to answer questions and make it easier to get your S60 set up the way you'd like to have it. Maybe I'm just not good at picking through stuff to get my answer.
But ~ overall, this is a great watch to have on the course! It doesn't bother my swing, gives accurate distance measurements quickly and will also track your shots which I really like. And I'd like it a lot MORE if I could review that info on my iPad . . . but it won't connect! :-)

Good - but room for improvement

For the most part a solid product with excellent functionality but there are some important (IMO) short comings that should be addressed.
1) Buttons frequently get accidentally pushed during the golf swing. Locking the buttons during the activity helps but that also locks the touch screen which is annoying to have to unlock several times on each hole. And sometimes the swing will accidentally unlock the buttons anyways. It really needs push guards built into the case as well as buttons that are not so sensitive.
2) The touch screen only works with your finger so it's difficult to get any kind of accuracy when trying to get yardages to any particular point on the course map or moving pin locations. One should be able to use a tee or something with a finer point to select locations on the touch screen.
3) The tempo measurement and shot detection functionality does poorly with an overly active pre-shot motion. You have to hold the club very still for a second or two before the back swing - which can be very unnatural (and is not recommended by most instructors).

Please remove my name attached to the Garmin - Approach S60 since I have returned it to the store where I bought it. It was of no value to me since I planned to use it on unfamiliar courses when I travel. Problem: it has to be recharged attached to a computer. Don't travel with one.

I love the look and feel of S60 but I am still having some trouble using it on the course. When keeping score, the S60 is supposed to be noting distance of clubs and kkeping score but often it jumps to the next hole without scoring. Just as often, before I putt out, it wants my final score and if I wait, the S60 already moves to the nbext hold with no way of returning the previous hold to enter a score. Garmin should have a better, more detailed, manual as these issues are not addressed in the manual.
