Great New Addition!

I purchased this unit after owning the original Breathsmart for over a year. I love the smaller slimmer size. This newer unit is also extremely quiet. I love both units & would buy both of them again. The flex is now in my bedroom with its more compact size & less noise is a plus when on the high setting. I recommend both units

Major design flaw.

the circuits that house the electronics for buttons at the top of the unit are exposed to suction that the fan causes. This traps dust and debris causing the buttons to mis read and beep on their own. I am having to spray electrical contact cleaner into the buttons every few weeks to stop the circuits for the buttons interacting with pent up dust that causes phantom beeping. For a 600 dollar appliance, I would have expected better testing.

first delivery - unit did not start

I was very disappointed since it came broken. service was receptive but wanted to send just the machine shell without a new filter - my filter came in a loose state when received. I had to insist to get a whole new unit that included the new filter. Since my first one had never even been used at all, sending me the shell without a new filter made no sense at all !! all in all it was a bad experience. Fortunately the new unit received yesterday has started and is running so far. we shall see how it goes since I am now somewhat apprehensive about your products.

The FLEX packs a punch!

My husband and I are very familiar with the Alen Corp. family of products. A year ago, we purchased the BreatheSmart unit to effectively clean our air during renovations on our house. The unit did just that. So, we had high expectations for the BreatheSmart FLEX unit when we put it in our master bedroom. Since owning the FLEX, we noticed a significant improvement in the quality of sleep we get each night. We are sleeping more sound and the air simply feels cleaner.
The unit is the perfect size for a master bedroom. Out of the box, the unit is very easy to use. It even has a 'sleep mode' that allows you to turn off the control panel at night while the system still runs. Very nice feature for a bedroom! Also, we live in Central Texas and have really bad allergies. The FLEX also does a great job of removing the allergens in the air resulting in cleaner safer air in our home.
If you want to breathe cleaner air, I highly recommend the Alen brand of products. Depending on the size of the room, Alen has the unit for you.
