A Good Start, Don't Just Look At The Stars

I purchased this product as my first personal tower. I mostly use it for gaming, but occasionally office-type work and video watching. To these ends I can not complain about the ability of the device. It comes ready-to-go for multitasking, mid-level gaming, and general web browsing is an ease.
To get to the negatives, I can only say I wish there was more to what I paid for. The model I purchased only came with a 250 GB SSD. I was aware of this, and there are options for 1 TB HDD, but obviously a SSD would be better for gaming. But with what I paid, I think one should afford themselves a little more disk space then that. I also feel like 8 GB RAM is a little low for the price as well, and isn't that great for modern gaming. Most new games require 8 GB RAM, but obviously after general computing needs and operating system requirements you end up with more like 7.8 GBs. 12 GB or preferable 16 GB would be the range I'd want for that. With how cheap SSDs are now, one should wish to expect at least 500 GB SSD if not a whole TB.
The positives, though, make this a great PC if you're looking for a long-haul computer. This tower is MASSIVE, and could defiantly hold high-end custom built PC gaming. It has a ridiculous amount of peripheral ports, even a USB-C port (which is good, since I will defiantly need and external SSD after a while). Right out of the box, the machine works fine. No fuss, just got to get past the first-time setup, preference setting, and very minimal addware to delete. It was very trim to start, which is good for such little computing space. The processor is quality, and compared to my old computers, I can't complain seeing a 10 second web page load up becoming more like 1 second.
I'm finally able to play more games because of this device. It's good, at the moment, for playing the games I need to play. Hopefully after the 3 year warranty goes up I won't fall too far behind, though. It would be nice to have some way to open it up and put some more juice into it. One good thing to note, as well, is that this thing is SILENT. No noise whatsoever after the initial boot. I can't comprehend how amazing this is for a 20LB piece of metal and electricity to not kick up and sound.
If you're looking for a long-term, reliable, home/gaming tower, I would recommend this. If HP put a little more power into it before shipping, then it would be an absolute no-brainer. But if you want to get top-end right away, get something cheap and crack it open and juice it up, or if you're really above even this price range, go custom. There's no reason to sit on this machine if you're willing to put a lot of up-front into it. Myself, on the other hand, is happy enough to spend a little extra right off the bat to get something ready for general use, but cheap enough to not break my bank. Once the warranty kicks off, though, you know for sure the thing will be stripped down and filled with all the new and best toys.
I would recommend this to a friend!
