Powerlite 1776W

I have only had this product for a few days, so I don't have a lot of road experience with it. My previous experience with projectors has been with those installed in a conference or meeting room. Then, it is easier to just use the computer in the room. This is my first "personal" projector and that is how it seems to me. A projector built for me. It is a powerful, lightweight projector that not only doesn't lack features, it has it all. The brightness, color and resolution are the top for this class of projector.
I am still getting used to its amazing light weight and manageable size. It reminds me of the size of a laptop about 12 years ago. At 3.7 lbs, this is something I can carry without pain all day. It arrived in its own carrying case, and included a power cable, USB cable, RGB cable, Wireless driver USB module, remote, easy setup booklet and 2 DVDs. One included drivers and software for projector management via the computer and the other a link to the manual. I had to supply remote batteries (2 AA) and the HDMI cable.
Out of the box, I went looking for the wireless module and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was already installed. It was easy for me to check by unscrewing the cover and sliding it open. Installing the wireless driver to the projector and then on the computer was a snap, though if you remove the driver module from the USB port prior to end of your presentation, your computer may drop Internet which my older computer did. (I will test it later this week on a newer computer.) I just refreshed the screen to get Internet back.
Features that I love are the Keystone feature which automatically compensates for a uneven surface which can distract from your presentation. I actually hate to admit that if you refer to the manual (which is easily downloaded with the link included in the projector's enclosed DVD) the menus of the 1776W are quite easy to navigate.
Its automatic features such as focus and resolution work without any problems although you can do manual adjustments through the menu if you prefer. And the remote gives you all the same access to controlling the projector as using the projector's controls. Plus, the remote can access a pointer (with 3 different shapes to chose from) or mouse function which are new features for me and quite useful.
I tested the split screen feature and it worked like a charm. Another feature I tested was the ability of the projector to support multiple sources. You can toggle between computer, network, video/HDMI such as a DVD player and USB.
I tested the 4 different projection options and they all worked as described. Besides the standard front projection, the other I anticipate using is the rear projection feature. The other two support projection from a higher point or ceiling.
The manual is well organized and well written. It is quick and easy to locate information. Epson also supplies a support number which could be a life saver if I am on the road and something goes wrong in an unfamiliar hotel or conference room.
I confess that I haven't try a movie on it yet. The kids are ready for this test! So, you may want to look at another review for that, though I don't anticipate a problem. My only concern with the movie is the sound. While the projector supports sound, it may not be rich enough with a movie..so I am going to experiment using another sound source (perhaps bluetooth) with the projector!
My only real complaint is the price of the replacement bulbs. I wish Epson could knock that down a bit.

Fantastic Projector

I teach guitar at a couple of community colleges. They kept shuffling me off into spaces where there is no computer and no projector. So I acquired my own computer but I needed a projector that could travel with me and be quick to set up.
The Powerlite 1776W WXGA 3LCD is perfect for my needs. I already have to haul a complete package so this projector is wonderfully small, compact, and mobile. Set ups in different locations on different screens is easy. The projector automatically senses the outline of the screen area and fills it.
It has been wonderful for me to tell people in different place that I do not need to adapt to their technology, because I have my own. The wireless capability is great.
Finally you do not have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for a cool down period. This projector does not produce sufficient heat to warrant a cool down time. Turn it off. unplug it, put it in it's travel bag and go. Great! Just great! I am never going to be without one.

PowerLite 1776W WXGA 3LCD Projector Review

We purchased 2 PowerLite 1776W WXGA 3LCD projectors for our traveling trainers. And they loved it. First it's light and compact. Performs very well like the heavier counterparts. Works well in bright environments, the auto focus and keystoning features, input source detection and wireless connection are outstanding, making it so easy for our trainers to set up. The price point compared to performance is also incredible. The only minor complaint in not having a mini plug audio output to connect to a powered speaker for larger audience when using the HDMI connection. While an RCA output is provided, it requires an amp or mixer with RCA input to work with external speakers. The 1 Watt bulit-in speaker is not powerful enough for a larger conference room. A bit disappointed but we are using a work around when needing to increase audio volume. Overall a great product!

Absolutely love it. Very easy to use and the wireless connectivity is awesome. I am a Junior High school teacher currently working in the Mexican public school system where not all the classrooms have projectors or computers and it was kind of a pain having to borrow one every time I wanted to do a presentation with my computer so i decided to buy my own and after doing some research out in the market I chose the power lite 1776w precisely for its slim size and wireless connectivity due to the fact that I have to move a lot from one classroom to another all day long. It's 3000 lumens are more than enough if you are working in a place where you get a lot of day light. I strongly recommend it.

Nice little projector

This is a nice projector for those who need a portable projector when traveling. The wireless setup was pretty straight forward and once completed, the projector and laptops connect quickly. A negative is teh delay between the laptop and the projector when using a powerpoint presentation that may inlcude some viedo. Some worked well and others had a definite delay between the video and audio.

Lightweight and Easy to Use!

I use this projector for school assemblies. It's really light, has good imagery and lumens, and is so easy to set up. I've only used this with my USB drive so I can't speak about the other features like WiFi. One important note: you have to save your PowerPoint slides as JPEG slides, not PDF slides, so know this in advance. It's not obvious! Overall, I am very, very happy with this projector! People raise eyebrows when they find out I don't need a laptop...

The Epson 1776W is a Sleek and Powerful projector. It is light weight, but a Heavy Hitter projector with desired functions. Superb picture and clarity, great video projection, and easy to setup and use. This is my third Epson Projector over many years and I am well pleased with Epson quality and design.
