Fantastic 1500VA UPS!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to start off by saying that my initial impression upon opening the packaging and setting the unit on the floor for the first time was... "Wow! This thing is much smaller and lighter than I was expecting!" I am impressed by the feeling of quality considering the compact size and affordable price of this 1500 unit.
The BX1500M includes 10 total outlets - 5 of which are actual Battery Backup Connections and then 5 are only Surge Protection but this has proven to be more than enough for my needs without having to scramble for additional outlets.
After connecting everything my entertainment center currently has to throw at it (Newer 55" 4k Television, Xbox One X, a Netgear Range Extender, a work Phone and Headset on the Battery side with a Playstation 4 Pro, two external Hard Drives and a LAN phone on the Surge side) I was met with 30% load and around 20 minutes of runtime. Not bad considering how thirsty the XB1X systems are known to be.
I will say though that because of the compact size of the unit and typical spacing of the outlets I did have to attach a few 6" outlet extender cables to accommodate some of the larger odd shaped plugs on some of my equipment but that was to be expected.
The front of the UPS has a friendly easy to read LCD status screen and three easy to see light up buttons including Power, Status Info, and Mute. Very happy with the info status options you can cycle through as well as the size and feel of the rubberized buttons on the front top of the unit.
The one minor complaint I have with this unit is that it does not include multiple easy access USB charge ports as some newer units are beginning to include. I can only assume that APC will update the next design to include better USB functionality. If this unit had multiple USB charging ports I would have easily given it a full 5 star rating.
It DOES have a proprietary cable providing a USB connection off of the back but I think that is just an interface cable and not meant to charge anything via USB but I will have to go back and take a second look at that and possibly update my review in the near future.
One complaint I have read online about these units is that it can emit an annoying noise/chirp and I am happy to say that my unit is super quiet and I don't even know it's in the room with me unless I look down to see it smiling back up at me.
I will also say I am very happy with the fact that it includes a generous Equipment Protection Policy as well as a 3 year repair or replace warranty which is fantastic.
For the price I would say this is a very good deal providing backup and surge protection for several power hungry devices and I am definitely going to recommend a purchase to anyone in need of such a device.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a long-time APC UPS user and was eager to look at this model because the UPS's I've had have served me well through occasional outages.
An obvious feature is to be big enough to give reasonable time to save your work. The BX850M can handle laptops to towers outside of high-end gaming boxes.
The unit also has all the features that one would expect of a UPS in 2018 such as an LCD display. One notable feature is the data recovery warranty.
I would not use this unit for servers, specialized equipment where the sinewave approximation might be a problem nor in areas where there are frequent lightning storms or chronic brown-outs. APC offers other products for special devices and situations.
One minor glitch in setting up the unit was some obsolete information in the manual that did not correspond to the current web site. But that did not really affect my rating which was "good" by comparison to higher-end products. I would have rated this UPS as 4.5 if I could have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using my APC Back UPS Pro BX1350M to provide protection for my small home office. Last night I was able to run my Dell OptiPlex 3050 Micro i5, Cable Modem and 20" monitor for about 1:40 minutes on backup battery power alone. This is more than adequate for my needs,. This unit is designed quite nicely for functionality. I like the number of outlets available and the amount of backup power available. I especially like the master control system that allows one outlet to be the master and control some of the other outlets. When the equipment powered by the master is shut down, all of the outlets controlled by the master are then shut off. This is a quick and energy efficient way to manage your equipment. Think of your computer as the master; when it is powered down, your monitor(s), and printer(s) will automatically shut down too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this UPS hooked up to my home server, router and modem. When the power went down all of my equipment stayed up and running while the rest of the house was dark , had no issues keeping the email server active for over 15 min when the power came back on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don't waste any more time trying to get by with a lesser UPS or one from a company that won't back up the UPS with it's own version of insurance protection. You owe it to yourself to protect all of your equipment, all of the time, given how much a decent and/or custom system and peripherals would cost to replace.
This UPS carries our main PC, with 850-watt EVGA PSU, Asus M/B with 32 GBs RAM, 4 HDDs, and EVGA video card, dual-Corsair liquid CPU cooler over an AMD FX-8350, 8-140mm fans in push-pull-positive pressure vent-config, an 4K monitor and a dual USB 3.0 dock; the APC UPS never breaks a sweat.
When you configure the UPS, turn the sensitivity all the way up in Power Chute, and remember to check it once a month. If you're in an area with storms, AC power issues (under/over voltage or outages), you really must get one of these. We've never been without a UPS, but it's never nice to tempt fate as we are using the UPS for TV/AV/router/firewall/LAN/modem.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit arrived in excellent condition, well packaged. Really liked that battery installation was highlighted in yellow tape on unit -- many people don't read manual. I have had the unit in service for several weeks and it has worked well. Since we haven't had any unexpected power outages, I have faken several by unplugging the unit. It worked exaclty as I would expect it to work. It will certainly protect your equiipment duriing an outage.
I wish that the spacing on the power outlets on the back was somewhat broader so that it could diretly handle plug-in power units for external drives. As it is, only three of the four outlets for backup can be used since I have two external disk drives that I want to proctect. I could plug a pwer strip into the backup outlet and then power hte drives from that unit to provide the protection I need, but this does add to the clutter under my desk.
Overall, I would certainly recommend this unit to anyone who need quality UPS backup for their home or office computer.
