Great Memories!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I remember when I was a little girl playing with one of these. I could sit for hours and enjoy what pictures that I made. Now being able to play with one of these with my 5-year-old daughter is amazing. It's nice to have this to enjoy spending time with my daughter.

Hot Garbage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my boys out of nostalgia. Man, Lite-Brite has gone downhill. The enclosure is thin plastic, the battery door must be unscrewed, the batteries are not included. The lights cycle through a pattern so you must press the button on the back several times to turn it off. The pegs don't fit into the hole properly, so they sit at weird angles unless they are inserted perfectly. The kickstand on the back doesn't click or lock and the angle is so shallow the whole thing feels like it will tip over. I had to hold the Lite-Brite in place with my other hand while trying to insert the pegs. I was so disappointed with the quality that I never even gave it to my boys, saved us some time and frustration, and threw it in the garbage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Almost Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a bit worried about my impulse grab of this toy for my 8 and 10 year old. After I got it I thought: "They are WAY too old for this. They won't like it."
Boy, was I in for a surprise. They actually had a lot of fun playing with it. We plan to take it with us for our next drive in movie trip, so they'll have something tactile to do while we grownups watch the late feature. I don't think this will interest them forever, but it was cute to see that even an older kid would find it fun for awhile. I think we age kids up and think they wouldn't be interested in actual toys and that we should just shove a screen at them, when actually kids, even older kids and teens appreciate toys.
But there are some drawbacks:
I had an original Lite-Brite a long time ago. And I remember that you would punch through the paper to make the image. I could not find where to slide the template into the lite-brite to do so. So they just followed along with the paper beside them. The paper should slide in and it should come with a lot more templates and duplicates so they can make the pictures more than once.
Also...this is a LOT of plastic. I appreciate that the box is a plain, seemingly uncoated cardboard, but once we received the toy, I realized that it was just full of plastic. I would have rathered it be made of something else: eco-plastic, recycled plastic, something better for the earth and our futures. This toy has potential but needs some changes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Childhood memories

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This brings back childhood memories. This qas packaged nice no issues. The product doesn't come with battery's so you will need those. Once on it has three light functions which is cool. The pieces are east to add and take off. It's cool to make several different designs snd pictures. Overal it brings back memories.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Hasbro Lire-Brite Ulitimate Classic toy. Does take 3 AA batteries not included. It lights up so much brighter, comes with 206 pegs, and 6 templates. We all been having so much fun playing with it and not only doing the templates but doing out own creations and seeing how cool they look when you light them up. The screen is bigger so you have more surface to use to create. Its fun for whole family. Does contain small parts so not recommended for Little kids. I am haivng issues so cant load the pictures I took. But you will have loads of fun.

It is easy to use and easy to clean up after. I love the kick stand on the back of it, very convenient. It comes with plenty of pegs and 6 templates to chose from . I love the different light show options steady is my favorite but my kids prefer flashing .
