When I went to t mobile on Thursday I upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy S8 to the Samsung Galaxy S8+. What I like about this phone is how beautiful the screen is, I love how the colors pop it looks so crisp to me. The phone isn't big like the Note 8 is which I never had a note in my life. Other then that I'm loving this device and will hold on to it before I upgrade to the Note 8 or the Note 9.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Turned in my Note for this upgrade. Very pricey but wanted to be one of the first to get it. Some sort of deal allowed me to get one for hubby (he's hooked; when not charging it it sits at his place at table). The only issue we encounter now and then is fact that steel roof will not always provide us with good signal (not a Samsung issue) and we therefore still have a landline.
To be perfectly honest, at least six months and I have yet to understand and use all this phone's capabilities.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, many available cases & protectors available
Cons: rubber cover to charger will not last long, still having issues with bluetooth
I would recommend this to a friend!

2 resets in 48hrs and subpar upgrade over S7 Edge

I really really wanted to like this phone. I was going from the S7 Edge to S8 plus and I expected great things. Unfortunately my expectations were met with reality. The phone went through a series of resets within the 48hrs or so of use (prior to my return) so I did not get a great user experience. I also got frustrated that several of my apps had compatibility issues with the disappearing buttons at the bottom of the device. Several times I had to turn the phone off and then log back on in order to reset the app I was using because the navigation buttons would not turn on. I am not sure if I was hit with a flawed unit or if this is just growing pains but either way I was not impressed a bit with this phone. The screen size was the best feature and yet that was not even a grand presentation.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve had a couple weeks with my S8+ and it’s simply a wonderful device to pull out of my pocket and use. Everyone has a positive comment about it like they didn’t know it existed. Battery life is a little better than expected considering Samsung didn’t want to push the limits due to the Note 7 (which I miss dearly).
The screen is amazing even in power saving mode which I rarely use, it’s vibrant and as over saturated as it some older models. Pics and videos look great text is sharp and visible in even the smallest font. I have the always setting enabled which is great for checking notifications. The ability to skip songs without turning the screen on is great as well. I was at the beach on a cloud free day and in direct sunlight I didn’t have to hold this phone at any awkward angles to view the screen.
I use the multi window feature more frequently than most. A few days ago I was running GPS and my Gmail account while working remotely. I also had Pandora running and pulled over to use the phone as a hotspot. I didn’t stop running anything that was already going, I even made a call from the softphone software while logged into clients PC from my laptop that was using the hotspot. Not one glitch slow down or issue with internet speeds. That’s a lot of tasks to perform on one small device.
VR is even a step better than it was on the S7 edge and Note 5. The graphics and audio are much more fluid, the processing power is pretty insane. The unit doesn’t overheat like it did after 20-30 minutes on the previous Galaxy devices. I played 2 Gun Jack and Drop dead for over an hour and my battery only went down 35%. It’s still not perfect but it’s enjoyable and no longer annoying to use for long periods of time.
Dual audio Bluetooth!!! I didn’t know I would enjoy this feature so much… I was in the garage working and I setup my speaker and my wife’s speaker the audio was so much better my neighbor came over to see what I was playing music on. I had my Samsung soundbar playing inside the house and a small Bluetooth speaker on the patio. I was going in and out the house a lot it was very convenient.
The Camera, I expected it to be a little better than my S7 edge + and it is… Every time I email or text an image people are asking what camera I used. My iPhone toting co-worker said he’s thinking about making the switch. I’ve taken pictures in the ocean midday and partying afterhours so far no disappointments.
Call quality is as expected clear and consistent, video calls look good over Wi-Fi or T-Mobile network.
The included earbuds by AKG were so good sounding I opted to buy the Bluetooth headphones with the Gear VR bundle and they didn’t disappoint at all. Crazy battery life and amazing sound.
Issues: I’ve noticed issues with Facebook and Instagram in the last couple of android update on my S7+ that I thought would go away with the S8+ and they haven’t. Random lockups and images not loading Wi-Fi or 4G.
When using Dual audio calls weren’t coming through. Instead of ringing the phone would play a busy tone quickly then back to music. I thought it was a notification so I ignored it later realized that I missed 5 calls that didn’t even register on the phone, if my wife didn’t text me I wouldn’t have known.
Bluetooth isn’t consistent across all VR games using the AKG headphones I received with my bundle.
Cons: cracked screen with case and screen protector on, screen broke when droped 2 days after purchase
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can't say enough about the design and the responsiveness. Samsung has truly come into its own as a world-class smartphone designer, and the S8+ shines brightly in its impressive lineup.

Switched from being a long time iPhone user to never wanting to go back. Everything about this phone from it's design to it's function has exceeded my expectations. Fantastic battery life, gorgeous screen, and quick performance, just to name a few of the great things that stand out about this phone.
