This phone is visually amazing, it's performance is also top notch. You should expect this from Samsung's flagship phone. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is this phone is very fragile. I've never cracked a screen in all the years I've been loyal to the samsung brand. This phone I dropped once, in it's case, and cracked it's screen. Gratefully I have insurance which was processed very quickly.

Best phone I ever held on to and own. Has an amazing WQHD quality display image and an incredible photo capture ranging from2k to 4k resolution! You can also boost its performance mode by adding an even more crisp display view, increase brightness and in game apps experience. I highly recommend this device too anyone who wants the best next thing. A bit pricey but its worth every penny.

Bought this phone fire my husband. Previously, he was using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. He is constantly amazed at how much this phone can do. Loves the feel of it, look of it and how fast it is. He's always trying to show me this or show me that with lots of excitement. He reminds me of a cold on Christmas morning. Pretty cute. He seems very happy with it.

My best phone so far.

My previous phones were a Samsung Infuse, which was terrible and locked up all the time, and then a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, which was great. This S8+ is generations above my S4 Active, and has all the features that I want, especially wireless charging and quick charge. Great camera (front and back). The only design feature I dislike is the all-glass body. Why not have a metal back?

Callins this the most beautiful device I ever held in my hands is not at all exaggeration. It's not at all big and very comfortable to hold in hand. Camera is great and Bixby has very good integration. Coming from Note 5, battery life is awesome

Best Android Phone in a Period of Time

Start with some tips that people may not know. 1. Turning on 'Accessibility' could significantly slow your phone down. Beware when you try to remap your Bixby button. 2. An app showing in 'Running services' or 'Force Stop' availble doesn't mean it's consuming a lot of battery. Also be careful when you disable app/service if you are using tools like disabler pro. My suggestion is leave as is if you don't know what you are doing. 3. If your phone is using a lot of battery during standby and it's Android OS or Android System consuming battery, it's most likely some apps are running in the background. Try un-installing suspicious app. If that happens after you do a factory reset and before you install any apps, you should return it and get a new one. 4. With 3500 mah battery, you should have between 3.5 to 5 hrs screen on time for a full day use. This estimate is based on all the apps people would usually installed. The people who get 8 hrs SOT usually customized their phone heavily or install a very limited amount of app. However if your SOT is lower than 3.5 hrs you probably want to find out which app is consuming your battery.
Let me get to the review of this phone. This is definitely the most advanced phone you can have right now. It has the best display with super high resolution, high contrast, and brightness. The fingerprint sensor is above my expectation. It is definitely not as convenient as phones like OnePlus 3 or iPhone who have front fingerprint sensor. But it's definitely not a nightmare when you use it. It's a lot faster than the one on S7 edge, which I failed about 1 in 3 times when I tried to unlock the phone with that. It's a bit hard to locate before you get use to that. I strongly recommend to use a case that can split fingerprint sensor and camera if you have issue with finding the location of the sensor. Iris scanner is also not a gimmicky feature. It actually works pretty well for almost every time. Trying to set it up several time to find the best result for your eyes and your use circumstance. Opening your eyes wide open when set it up could cause it hard to unlock because that's not what you do when you unlock your phone normally. It definitely has some room for improvements. It's not the scanner itself but the difficulty to unlock your phone when iris scanner fails.
Performance wise, it's good for most of the time. You don't need to worry about that. But as I said, don't turn on accessibility which could significantly slow your device down. I do experience some lag when I try to open a certain app. It's rare and very random. So what happened is instead of opening the app immediately, it waited half second and the app window pops up. This is something I definitely won't see on my OnePlus 3. However, I don't think this is a SOC or RAM or Storage performance issue. I think it's the touchwiz again. Although Samsung has committed to make it light weight and fast, it still has some of the legacy issue from previous versions. In regarding to full screen app option, feel free to turn it on for all the apps. I installed about 100 apps on my phone and I have not experienced a single app that couldn't work with the full screen mode.
Battery is above average. I am also surprised by Samsung with their battery life when they have so much bloatware and services running in the background. With 3500mah battery and this high resolution, I don't expect it to be as crazy as some phones who have 4000 or 5000mah battery with a 1080P screen. As I said above, I usually get around 4-4.5 hrs of SOT depending on how much time I spent on game. It will definitely get you thru a day unless you are a super heavy user. Samsung introduces a new device maintenance feature on this to replace the one on S7 edge. I personally like the one on S7 edge more as I can set all apps to 'save power' instead of let system to wait 3 days to turn the apps into that mode. And also closing app to 'save power' is a bit to hard to do, because I have to choose the apps one by one every time when I close them. This is really should be something done by system itself. So when the app is idle for over 30 mins, system shuts it down automatically.
Camera is still the best. It has a new sensor IMX333 from sony which is an upgrade from last year's S7. Its 1.7f aperture creates a perfect blurry background when shooting something in close distance. It focus super fast thanks to its dual pixel technology. It's low light performance is also very good when you compare to other phone. It can create some noise but still, for a low light shot, you need to capture the objects first and then we talk about reduce noise.
There are a lot of cool features that I didn't mention like SD card slot and water resistance.
Pros: 1. Best SOC in Android (SD835, no other phones have that) 2. Best camera of all phones 3. One of the best performance (on par with OnePlus 3T. Phones made by LG or Samsung always suffer from their heavy skins but you get extra features thanks to that) 4.Always on Display and fancy animated wallpaper/lockscreen/AOD 5. Expandable storage 6. Good battery life
Cons: 1. Phone is slippery so you need a case which covers its great design and feel 2. Battery size should be larger (the bigger the better) 3. Some not fully optimized Samsung apps for larger screen and on screen button. (e.g. 1. Themes button sound for back and recent key is not working on S8 because all on screen buttons are now regarded as a tap on screen. 2. Large black area in camera app) 4. Some people may not like location of finger print sensor
Overall, this is the best Android phone you can buy on the market right now, and will be for a period of time. If you wish to spend this money on a phone then I would say go for this one. You get what you pay for.
