Excellent machinery

I bought this pasta machine for my wife for Christmas. She has always used a manual pasta machine. She has always wanted a powered machine or an attachment to a mixer to make the process a bit easier/quicker. This machine really does a nice job of kneading and pultruding the recipes provided. Unfortunately the recipe doesn’t have the right “tooth” in my wife’s opinion. She tried using her tried and true recipe but the machine just can’t mix the toughness of that dough. I think this would be a decent purchase for someone who isn’t as picky about the consistency of the pasta produced.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great but Please Make More Extruders!

I love this product but I wish that it had more accessories available for purchase. I would love to be able to do macaroni and shells and those shapes are not available for the compact version. Please release more like there are for the full version!
A note to others-- I really enjoy this machine but note that the dough must be a crumbly consistency while its in the machine. The pressure forces it into the noodle shape. This is a little disappointing because I hoped to sometimes make my own dough outside of the machine and just use this to extrude, but that is not possible. If you put fully formed dough in there it just bounces around and doesn't make it to the extruder.
Just follow the instructions and within 30 minutes home made pasta is extruding. You can make different kinds of pastas (whole wheat, egg, flour, semolina, etc.), and clean-up is easy. Extruded pasta is not my favorite pasta, but this machine does a very good job. My only complaint, and this is why it gets a good rating and not excellent, is that you are limited in what you can make. The bigger machine offered by Phillips has more disks, providing a wider range of the type of pasta you can make. As of now, a year after I purchased this machine, there are still no new disks, and the disks are not interchangeable with the other models, so you can not buy the others that are offered with the other models.
Very.easy to use, even for an inexperienced guy. Just follow the directions and you have excellent fresh pasta, just like from an expensive deli.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Perfect for singles or couples

Worked right out of the box with the very precise dough recipes from the included booklet. I am using the metric by weight method as I distrust volume measures, especially for flour. So far I have tried all three attachments (penne, linguini, and spaghetti) with durum, whole wheat, and AP flours as well as spinach and carrot juice pasta. The basic recipe gives me on average +- 225 grams enough for one large meal or 2 small ones, depending on my appetite. I was afraid that cleaning was going to be difficult but the internet came to the rescue and found the right technique: disassemble the pasta machine, let the dough dry then easily wipe it off. Rinse with cold or luke-warm water and let dry. I have ordered the additional disks but there is a one- or two-month-long wait for them. In the meanwhile, I'll be experimenting with the dough recipes (chickpea, gluten-free, flavored).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love pasta in our house and homemade pasta Is the best but can be alot of work. My Phillips pasta maker makes it easier and less messy. All you do is add ingredients and let the machine do the work. It has a neat little pull out compartment to store your disks and is not bulky so easy to store or let set on the counter. Clean up is a breeze and it makes noodles perfectly the bonus Is it comes with a booklet giving your recipes for all types of noodles!
I find the pasta maker very easy to use, and have not had any issues making a variety of pastas. Besides being easy to use, it is easy to clean as well. The only reason I gave it four instead of five stars is I would have liked it to include more shaping disks, rather than having to buy the additional ones separately. I would also love if Phillips made a wide noodle disk. I make lots of dishes that call for wide flat noodles and would love to use this machine for those dishes. But after all is said and done, this was a good purchase. I am very happy with the unit despite its limitations. BTW, it is very well made, heavy and sturdy. I expect it to last a VERY long time.
Pros: easy to use., east to clean., makes good tasting pasta very fast., cleanup is a breeze., well made seems built to last.
Cons: need to pay for extra shapers., no wide flat noodle shaper disk.
