Great value product !

Have been using one for about 4 years, as a monitor and a tv. Great colors, lots of very useful features via SmartControl software (https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/BDM4037UW_27/brilliance-4k-ultra-hd-lcd-display-with-multiview/support), and not to forget about the required drivers, which could also be found at the link above.
Most important for me are:
- Eyes protection (Anti-flickering, Low-Bluelight)!
- 40inch - 4k with MultiView (having up to four different sources connected simultaneously)!
- Great colors (must install the drivers and software)!
- Price to value!

Artificial light from screens, light bulbs ,etc. has a huge impact on the health of your eyes, therefore in order to protect them, we must carefully choose what we are buying.

Extremely bad viewing angles compared to BDM4065UC

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own a great BDM4065UC (also 40'' 4K). On paper, this monitor was better. Side-by-side, it's awful.
Contrast decreases from 4000:1 to 200:1 at 300 degrees, unlike 4065uc, overall colors are washed out and calibration doesnt really help as viewing angles are too small.
But the 4065uc is not sold anymore :(
Pros: still cheap as for 40'' 4k
Cons: viewing angles, color reproduction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for just about everything

I have had this monitor for around a year and a half and it is superb. The picture looks beautiful and although it is only a 60hz panel everything runs smoothly at 4k. Would recommend.
Pros: great colors, great viewing angles
Cons: doesnt come with remote
I would recommend this to a friend!

A great monitor for what I use it for

Yes, there are faster panels out there. Yes it does have a "little" ghosting. However the pluses of Philips using a VA Panel are significant. For those wondering what VA stands for it means "vertically aligned". The benefits are a much higher contrast than the traditional IPS panels and much better colours. In fact this monitor has a contrast ratio of 4,000 to 1. Compare that to any IPS panel that has around 1,000 to 1.The black uniformity is also significantly better than an IPS panel. Any IPS panel I have used has that IPS "glow" to it that I find annoying. That's not to say IPS is a bad panel, it’s faster than the VA and does not have any ghosting on the games. Can I live the slight ghosting? Absolutely. Exceptional colors, a contrast ratio that is only beat by a super expensive OLED panel and lots of inputs. Add the flicker free tech on this and it’s a keeper for me. I encourage anyone who casually games or does graphics to seriously give this display some serious consideration.
Pros: exceptional contrast and colour due to va panel, too numerous to list. amazing product., flicker free backlight (no flickering at all)
Cons: slight ghosting.
