No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, Ms Somewhat. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your a/c. Try adjusting the louvers and using a higher fan speed. Since this is a portable a/c, it can be moved to other areas of the room (but still close enough to vent outside). While we cannot implement all suggestions we receive, we will continue to use valuable feedback such as yours to improve the design of our products in the future. ~ Brandi

Cheap plastic

The hose exhaust connection is cheaply made, I had to buy aluminum heating tape to secure it otherwise it constantly fell out, and they don't tell you that you need to buy a short hose and a bucket to drain the excess water

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The box said this 10000 BTU unit would cool 450 square feet. Mine is 425 and the compressor stays on all the time. A competitor said their 10000 would cool 350 square feet? I guess I should have bought more BTU's. Other than the inability to handle the area as advertised all the other features are nice. This unit replaced my window 10000 BTU unit which did a good job.I'm sorry I bought this UNIT. Will sell it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It definitely does the job. I use it in my 20X20 garage and keeps the temp at a comfortable 75 degrees when it is 90+ degrees outside. Very happy with this unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a real hot spell & the house was way too warm for comfort. We have solar window screens so don't want to have to cut one to put in a window unit. I was doubtful that this small portable unit would be able to cool much of the house, but it has. We have a small single wide mobile home & it cools the front room & is enough to help cool the 2 bedrooms at either end of the house. I am a happy camper. It is also a compact size so does not take up much room in an already small front room.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Portability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in an upper apartment were the bedroom windows are to high for me to install and remove a regular air conditioner. This works perfectly for me because of the portability and being able to use it on my living room sliding glass door. I am still able to use my patio and when the weather is cooler I can still use my windows without having to remove the air conditioner. Runs great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this model because I wanted it to cool down two adjacent rooms; and, it has worked great. Hooking the model up to the widow was simple; I just followed the directions. The unit is not totally quite; however, when it does turn on, I don't react to the noise because it "blends" into the background noise and I don't notice it. It doesn't wake me up while I'm sleeping. The User Manual is easy to follow.
I would recommend this to a friend!
