Replaced RV fridge with this model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a NORCOLD fridge/freezer in our motorhome. It quit working so we contacted other owners of Phaeton motorhomes to find out which units would work with minimal modifications and give us the most bang for our buck....Custom RV near Red Bay Alabama recommended this model. We have only had it a couple of weeks, but the size is great! Looking forward to many trips with a freezer that works!

Good performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got the refrigerator delivered 10 days ago. It works so far so good. We found that it cools food quickly and efficiently. There are two things we feel not comfortable up to now. At the freezer side, there are no block bars to prevent food drop down from the storage shelves. At the refrigerator side, the bottom drawer is not easy to pull back - not smooth.

Quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hoped for a quieter refrigerator than my old one, and yes, I got it. The interior lights in both the fridge and the freezer are great to have. The drawback to me is the freezer. I hoped a side-by-side would improve freezer organization, but since it's so deep, it's hard to find items. This freezer came with one pull-out drawer at the bottom which helps. It would be a great improvement to do away with the wire shelves and replace them with all sliding baskets. I've tried to find them as an accessory--unsuccessful. I'm going to continue to look for baskets that might fit.

Watch out for lemons - BUYER BEWARE
on October 5, 2015

I bought this about a month ago and from day one, the doors did not fit properly. It looks like the entire cabinet is warped/torqued. Whirlpool sent someone to try to repair the alignment of the doors and he told us that they've been having a lot of problems with this model, but if customers don't complain, then Whirlpool will never address the production issue. The repair guy was instructed to rip the seal off and apply some kind of putty. Guess what? All they did was ruin the seal and the door is still warped and now it leaks cold air. They sent someone else to look at the doors and he concluded the entire unit is torqued and needs to be replaced. You would think that would be the end of the story ... No. Whirlpool is trying to decide what they should do next. I wish more people would have reported their problems with this refrigerator, I think I would have passed on this model. I still can't believe that Whirlpool ordered the repair guy to destroy the factory seal in order to "repair" our new refrigerator!

Nice Refrigerator.....Works great so far

This refrigerator is working great so far. We've had it a short time but it seems to be humming right along and keeps things cold and is so much quieter than our 25+ year old GE that passed away about a month after we bought this one. We were curious how much longer it would "live" so put it in garage to store bottled water and cans of pop only. So we were glad we got the new Whirlpool when we did. We have plenty of ice using the two ice trays that came with it in addition to the four we already had, do not miss an ice maker at all. Glad to have the additional freezer space that an ice maker would generally take up. Love the snack/cold cut drawer (not sure what it's actually called) very handy and in just the right middle location. Also love the clean uninterupted lines of the doors...plus door handles fit well in your hands. Overall a purchase we are glad me made.

Energy Saver

Replaced a slightly smaller old top freezer/refrigerator plus a separate small deep freeze with this PG&E recommended efficient unit. Intentionally chose a unit without ice maker or outside dispenser, therefore, it is not Energy Star rated. It is more efficient than the Energy Star rated products. It has reduced my power use by more than 1-KWH per day!!!

Right Size, Right Capacity, No Water Connections

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We chose this model because it could be ordered without the chilled water and icemaker features. Also, it fits into a specific space. We would have preferred "bisque" but stainless steel is OK, just a bit "industrial" looking for a home kitchen.

Take Stock of Your Supplies At A Glance

I never had a side by side before and wasn't sure I'd like it. Now, I"m convinced. It makes finding your food so much quicker and easier than bottom freezer models I wonder why I never gave it a try before. You can see everything in both the refrigerator and freezer sections at a glance. The enhanced lighting adds to the ease of seeing whats in there and finding it fast. Everything is right up front and easy to get in and out. Easy to adjust shelves to suit my own needs for space. Very pleased with how much more interior usable space there is in both the freezer and refrigerator compartment than in my old 19 cubic foot bottom freezer model, which was the same size exterior.
