This particular garbage disposal is loud and the drainage is poor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello SJoyner - Thank you for providing a review on your disposer. We are sorry to hear of this difficulty. GE disposers can grind food waste at a rate of 8000 rpms. It is powerful enough to grind chicken bones and small steak bones. A disposer can sound like a blender running or even a small vacuum sweeper. This is normal. Additionally, when a disposer doesn't drain or drains poorly, it is normally caused by one of the following:
1. Food is still remaining in the garbage disposal. Run the disposer a little longer until the food has been completely ground up. CAUTION: NEVER PUT YOUR HAND INTO THE DISPOSER. BE SURE TO TURN OFF POWER FIRST, THEN ALWAYS USE TONGS OR A LARGE SPOON TO REMOVE OBJECTS FROM THE DISPOSER.
2. The plumbing is clogged. This may require a qualified plumber to correct..

Installed many of these as Resident Manager of 53 unit apartment building. Other brands had corroded to disintegration. Always easy install.

I am very satisfied with the disposal I purchased, but there is one thing that I didn't realize due to purchasing it online and that it is a little noisy when turned on. It is something though that I can deal with. Next time I will purchase a higher end model.
