Great product for the price

I purchased this disposer to replace a 32-year old GE that was installed when the house was built. The old one gave us great service and I'm confident that the new one will as well. The operation is reasonably quiet and it works perfectly. Hopefully this disposer will provide another 30+ years of great service.

This unit is so soft when you turn on the switch and does a quick job to get rid of all the items in the sink. Recommend this unit to anyone looking for a disposal!

It's been seven months since I installed this disposer. At 1/2 hp, it's definitely better than the previous 1/3 hp unit which jammed & never worked again. This new unit at 1/2 hp, has jammed only once. My hubby easily fixed it with the recommended broomstick-jab method described in the manual.
But that's the only drawback--we need to shut off the circuit breaker to the disposer, take out the sink flange, and jam a broomstick into the top of the disposer--alternately against & in the direction of rotation to get it unjammed. Then put the flange back in before turning the circuit breaker back on again. Other disposers require only a twist of a hexagaonal wrench.
It chews up chicken bones & food debris easily, though not right away if there's a big load dumped in, but over time with each use of the disposer, that load disappears.
This unit also sucks water down. We like that. I had filled the sink up with water to soak some pots and pans in. After I was done, I took the stopper out, let it drain for about 4 seconds before flipping the disposer on. That thing created a whirlpool effect & in short order sucked all the water down the drain. Nice.

Just wish there were some saftguard to keep metal objects from getting into disposer, but that is a a problem with all disposers. Maybe someone will come up with something in the future.
