Effective, but VERY NOISY!!!

This appliances makes short work of getting rid of garbage. But it is the loudest, noisiest disposal I have every used! It sounds like a semi-truck starting up every time I use it. In that respect, it is annoying. I would not purchase another of this model, simply because of the cacophony it creates when operating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Noisy

This was installed as part of a brand new $500K home. It is the LOUDEST garbage

Great Disposal

Had this disposal for 4 years. Works very well and maintaining the product is fairly simple. After roughly 3 years of use, the vibrations loosened some of the connections causing a slow drip in the cabinet under the sink. Despite no experience with appliance repair, I was able to easily follow online tutorials to disassemble the unit, clean it (which I would highly recommend after several years of use since it was disgusting), then reassemble the appliance successfully. Drip issue was eliminated.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good disposer, but installation was frustrating.

I purchased this disposer because it has stainless steel grinding chamber. I replaced a competitor's unit which rusted out in less than five years. The GE works fine. Installation was difficult and I ended up having to use plumbers putty to get a non leaking seal between the disposer and the sink.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was way more difficult to remove my old non-working disposal to install this one. Do a quick browse through the instructions and you are set to go. Works well and eats through everything I throw at it. Overall a great buy.
